2016 6th and 7 th rd picks

I like the trade. I thought we would've gave up more then a 6th and a 7th rd pick in next years draft. Wonder if the pick changes on how many games and tackles he does.

I like the move we trade a 6th. get a player in a position of need and a 7th from tampa

owed 4 or 5 Mil..which isn't too bad....

We needed a FS

The bucs are paying 4 million this year that was Guarnteed to him!!!

Makes the deal even better for us!!!!

go Scot!!!

Our Secondary is VASTLY improved over last year......Not so much the Liability we have had the last couple years!!!!!!

The best thing to happen to the Skins happened in Janurary (around my Bday no less) signing Scot!!!!

So for this coming season this leaves us with needs at OLB, O-line and possibly a tall WR.

I can live with going into the draft with that list of needs.

The good news is this deal is relatively risk free. The question is does he have anything left in the tank? Or is this Ryan part II?

Excerpt

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Goldson reached the Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012 for San Francisco, and in 2013 he departed for Tampa Bay, agreeing to a five-year, $41.25 million deal.

However, Goldson fell out of favor with Tampa’s new coaching staff this past season, and the team deemed him expendable despite the fact that he recorded 81 tackles, which ranked second on the team in 2014.

Washington lacked a proven free safety following the retirement of Ryan Clark. Only Trenton Robinson (primarily a special teams player) remained on the roster as the sole free safety.

At least he is only 30. That's a plus.

I wouldn't say that he was not good for the Bucs. He had some great plays and some great HITS! The only problem was that the refs have it out for this guy. He basically is not aloud to hit anyone over the middle without getting a 15 penalty and a fine, regardless of the targeted area. I feel kind of bad for him. He ended up being a liability on the defense for the Bucs because he gave up more 15 yarders than anyone. Oh well.

Goldson's cap figure this year is $7.5M, but that includes a $4M guaranteed base salary that's being picked up by TB. This makes our cap figure $3M for him this year.

However, he's got cap numbers of $8M and $7.25M in the next two years (each of which includes a $500K workout bonus), but all of this is non-guaranteed money. This means that we can cut him now and in the next two seasons without a cap penalty. But if we want to hang on to him next season, we'll have to determine whether he's really worth $8M.

That's okay, we needed another Brandon Merriweather. In any case, he's a HUGE upgrade over what we had last year. Hey, he's no Earl Wolff, but we're happy with him. :)

I'm hoping with a better pass rush, his play will be infinitely better. He didn't have an ideal situation in TB to showcase his skill set from what I'm hearing. He excelled with the he Niners and SM is familiar with his talent. Since its a low risk contract, it's definitely an upgrade for us.
