Kentucky outside linebacker Alvin ‘Bud’ Dupree might be the most athletic pass rusher in this entire draft class. Vic Beasley stole the headlines at the combine, but Dupree was just as, if not more impressive. Dupree is an inch taller, at 6 feet 4, and 23 pounds heavier, at 269 pounds, than Beasley. Yet his vertical and broad jumps were better. Dupree also ran nearly as fast, despite the extra weight, with a 40 time of 4.56, only 0.03 seconds slower than Beasley.

Great athleticism, big guy with top speed, but raw as a pass rusher. Sometimes he displayed great ability in doing that, but at others, he simply disappeared and thus drew criticism for lack of consistency. Before you say he's another Rak, the guy can get coached. And when/if he does, he can be great.

2015 NFL Draft: Redskins Sending Defensive Staff to Meet With OLB Bud Dupree - Hogs Haven

Excerpt

There are only 6 days left until the draft begins next Thursday, and it appears the team wants to keep all options open. Dupree has been mocked as high as #6 to the New York Jets recently, are the Redskins really considering him at #5? It's more likely that they are aggressively pursuing a trade down in the first round, which would likely cause them to miss out on defensive linemen like Leonard Williams and edge rushers like Dante Fowler, Jr. and Vic Beasley. Dupree could be a target in the 8-13 range if he is still available. While he is considered a top 3 OLB by some analysts, others still have concerns about his game at the next level that could cause him to not meet his current projections. Terms like workout warrior and project get thrown around, which will make any team skeptical to use a Top 5 pick unless the tap can back up the athletic potential. Other pass rushers like Randy Gregory(weight, drugs) and Shane Ray(foot injury) have seen their draft stock fall recently which has helped Dupree rise, but not all teams will share that opinion.

I don't really know what to make of this. The guy seems to have some skills, but I don't know if I'd take him over Leonard Williams, Dante Fowler or Vic Beasley. Honestly, I didn't really see anything pop off the screen for the few times I saw Kentucky play. I don't know.

I believe he has the most upside of any OLB's in the draft but I'm not thrilled taking any of them at 5 It's either trade down or Williams and White for me

looks like he could be in the mix if a trade down is in play

He is very raw but most scouts and Gms have said he has the highest ceiling of any of the OLB's
Looks like he could be really good with the right coaching on technique. Course, I'm really new to looking at film.

Now that guy looks like a lineback unlike so many of the edge rushers in this draft. Love the idea of trading back a few spots and still landing him.
