Thought: bigger rink dimensions. In the spectrum of the last 2-10 years and the increase we've seen in concussions: I think they're being appropriately handled at last, and that players see what it can do to you (Savard, Crosby, etc.) so they're learning to treat it seriously, so the number is skewed. In spectrum of the past 50: the game is faster, players are bigger, the pads are less forgiving, so the number IS bigger.

if you give 3 feet on each side you could have a huge difference. that is the length of a full grown man added. that is alot of room for a NHL player. but the teams just dont want to give up that space for the seats. I dont see how you cant explore this option

The irony is that the hit on Poni that got Andy Sutton suspended for eight games didn't take Poni out of the lineup, yet a clean hit on Jeff Skinner put Jeff on the shelf.

It wouldn't kill that many seats. What, 50 max? Isn't that worth saving the health (potentially) of your million dollar athletes? We're starting to see that it's not just head shots or cheap shots that create concussions.

Agreed, it's like me and this guy at the coffee shop were talking and agreed that we liked the concussions at first, but now it's like the wrong people are getting them.

It wouldn't kill that many seats. What, 50 max? Isn't that worth saving the health (potentially) of your million dollar athletes? We're starting to see that it's not just head shots or cheap shots that create concussions.

No top end team is going to simply give up revenue. They will look for a different answer (rule, equipment & other changes) that doesn't require they lose money. Never forget, it's a business first.

Hindsight is 20/20, but he really would've been better off just falling on him or tripping over him rather than trying to fucking hurdle him. I thought black people were supposed to be able to jump. Oh well. I need a drink.
