Sign Posey long term?

Was just reading that Evan Longoria is due to make $42MM from the Rays over the next six years. I'm thinking a similar contract (perhaps a bit more) would make sense for Posey.

Might be a good idea. Lock him up before he costs 140 million. I'd wait until after next season to do it though.

I doubt he would do it, Longoria gave up a TON of money by signing that. I remember being so shocked at what a team friendly deal that was. It would be sweet if Posey would though.

Well Longoria's deal takes him well past arbitration with options, I really doubt Posey would sign something like that. I still can't believe Longoria signed that deal. I do like the idea of signing Posey long term, but I would probably wait another year to do it and then sign him to a deal that goes a few year past his arbitration years.
