It was amazing. Not what I was expecting. I thought that it would just be another cops & robbers type chase ' em flick, but it's much more than that.

This quote is perfect for the movie...

"He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee."

I absolutely loved this movie. I would rank it in the Top 5 I watched in 2015. It was brilliantly presented. After the opening sequence, you would expect the movie would have some massive slow middle as the crime drama aspect is pushed, but it continued to move and hit you again and again as you watch. The cinematic shots of the border landscapes were stunning as the story continued to be told. I saw no weak links in the actors performances. Everyone delivered.

The Jaurez prisoner transport scene from beginning to end was just amazingly filmed. That blew everyone in the theater away. It was filmed in such a way as you felt you were there for the ride. Bravo.

It's also a very accurate wake up call to those who don't think Mexico is gotten that bad. It's that bad.

Del Toro was simply amazing in the movie. What a performance. I love how your still left guessing about all the puzzle pieces of his background.

Saw it last night, wow fucking intense! Great movie had a similar effect on me as The Hurt Locker did. The middle got a little slow but I think it needed to be that way to emphasize the Juarez scene and then the crossover to Mexico.

Benecio Del Toro is a top actor
