Remember that long touchdown pass Lock threw to Sutton who laid flat out for a belly landing and caught by his finger tips in the far right side of the end zone? The after game reporting on that play was not only Sutton's amazing catch, but the fact that Lock went against the play call - choosing instead to throw it downfield.

I've been on football teams - so when I read Lock went with his own call on the play - I thought he might get in trouble for that with the coaching staff. In the world visible to fans I didn't see or hear anything about a repercussion for disobeying the play call.

The reason I recall that now is because here we are less than one year later and the OC who called that unused play has been fired and the kid QB who disobeyed got a bunch of new weapons to play with.

One little discussed change Shurmur has brought in as the OC - is he will be allowing Lock to call audibles at the LOS on every play. This, of course, means Lock will be trusted to make pre-snap reads. That's a bigger vote of confidence in Lock by the Broncos than the draft was. With that one play - Lock show Fangio and Elway he has the confidence to be a field general (and field generals are the best QBs).

I have faith that Shurmur will get the most out of Lock. He’s shown the ability to do so with other Qb’s. More importantly he really sped the development of Daniel Jones into an NFL qb. The sun is rising in Bronco land, the energy and excitement of this potential high octane offense is ready to bust loose.

p.s. if that isn’t POTM material, then this board has jumped the shark.

p.s.s. Where in the hell is Carl and doc cyanide? We need their informational knowledge ASAP

And Peyton is tutoring him.

Sounds like a 70's show that comes on between Starsky and Hutch and SWAT.

We will see quickly how much Lock feels the pressure for getting the keys to the Ferrari after a 5 game run. It would seem hard for Lock to exceed the expectations that are built up.

The a good run game is a necessity for Lock's success.

Schumer/Staff have a very good chance of being here at least 10 a lot of them are probably going to be happy living right where they are. Most will not be getting a job upgrade any time soon. We really are blessed with this coaching staff.

Lock has the perfect personality to be a QB Zany and fun Gunslinger that will get the job done most of the time and IMO will learn from his mistakes I don't think he will ever be a QB with High INTs amounts compared to TD's. And that will be saying something Because he will be making a living on the deep ball quite often. This O will be short passes I get that but we will get the good play going deep. Lastly, Lock seems that it factor he has a Winner personalty you can see that in his play he relishes playing at high levels and openly shows a celebrating of great playing by him and his players.

I also like him not getting phased by the KC game he put his head down and worked.

I don't believe Shurmur is a short pass stylist, but even if he is our weapons are down field threats.

I think Lock has some very high expectations, and I believe we'll see him worked into things more this season given the weapons and the high expectations from the running game.

Did you read the part about Cush ? hmmm
I think the current POTM made the same point a while back

Yes Greg, I'm old fashioned that way - I start at the beginning and I read until the end. :)
