I think it would be a mistake to try and put him on the practice squad. I see lots of upside with him and he could develop into at least a decent backup.

You're opinion may be shared by the team. Unless he's injured, the only reason I could see for not playing him against Houston, is that they think they might have something, and they don't want other people to notice.

Showers was released today. I try not to saw what WILL or WONT happen because with the NFL we really don't know, but I am certain he will be on the PS square if he clears waivers. He can play ST and can be the scout team QB when we play option QB's.

Gotta be, right? I just don't see why he wouldn't get a little more PT in the preseason, unless they think he flat out sucks.

That's my thought.

If I'm wrong, the only other reasons I could see him receiving such little PT is because he got banged up or they weren't too impressed.
