No.

They have contacted and spoke with an agent. In fact some of them may have taken a small loan of some type from said agent. They made their choice, a foolish one at that. That's life. Got to live with it.

Id be ok with a rule change that allowed them back. What is so bad about contacting an agent, especially since players are gonna get paid soon anyway?

No way in hell. They enter draft they made the choice to attempt a professional career.

If we allowed them back every under class men enters and then "potentially" goes Undrafted just to come back.

Bad all the way around IMO.

Sure they can come back, on their own dime. Too bad, so sad. Should have stayed in school.

Compared to say a DGB getting a second shot its REALLY so bad to hire an agent? Too bad so sad to a guy that played by the rules and chose to try and take it to another level but come on back to a guy that breaks into homes and degrades women?

How many of those declared because they were kicked off their college team?

I don't know the answer to the question. Just wondering why an underclassman would declare for the draft and ruin his eligibility unless he was a sure thing?

Were their agents lying to them about their potential?

Nope, sorry, they chose to quit school and give up their scholarship in an attempt to make their money.

I'd be fine with them coming back. It's that way in other sports.

Definitely should be allowed to come back. I don't see a single thing wrong with a guy trying to get that money a year early.

I'll take Adrian Hubbard back in a heart beat. It'll workout for everyone...he'll get another year to develop and show he can do something more, we'll get a pretty good player, and he'll be able to finish his education.

What would we be losing by allowing him back?

This was were I was heading. Everyone will declare for the draft. The cluster fuck would be immense. So no....once the athlete decides to go pro, they made their choice.

Did you already take some money?
Did you already meet with professional trainers, nutritionists, coaches, etc, on someone else's dime?
Sorry, no, you cannot come back.

If you avoided all those things during your NFL try-out, sure come back.

Of course you would take Hubbard back because he's a productive player on your favorite team. These players know the situation going in. Don't get me wrong, it sucks to leave early and go undrafted, but the blame is entirely on the player.

If they are dumb enough to leave early and not be one of the almost 300 players selected, they are just moronic.

I would say yes but the team cannot use a football scholarship on them. The player should have to pay tuition or earn an academic scholarship.

No way. It is a decision they made, and decisions have consequences. Have fun in canadian football or the arena league. Maybe next time think for yourself rather than listen to the agents who just want a cut of your contract.

I'm not a big fan of CFB because of all the BS with their NY telephone book of rules and regulations, weak finish (yes even this hand picked playoff is weak imo) but on this one I'd have to say yes and no.

Reason...there are only so many scholarship players a coach can have. Once a player declares for the NFL draft and goes thru the process of hiring an agent, etc...most coaches have their recruiters hot on the trail to replace that player. School signs a 4 star recruit @ LB and offers him a scholarship...then the player he's replacing decides he's not turning pro now because he didn't get drafted...well, that's good son, but...your scholarship is gone.

Yes, as a non-scholarship player.

No, as a scholarship player.

I didn't see this post, but my point echoes yours.
