Should the Patriots Give Up a 4th Round Pick For Josh Gordon?

The Cleveland Browns said that they would give up WR Josh Gordon for a 2nd Round pick plus other considerations. 31 other cities bent over laughing.

Rumor circulating around the New England area is that Bill Belichick is will to give up a conditional 4th Round pick for the 6'3" speedball with a world of talent. Problem is that he just might be a nutcase druggie, or is he? Cleveland isn't the best place in the NFL to show off your talent. Would playing in New England change his attitude? Would playing with Tom Brady change his attitude. Or would he be another Ochocinco?

If the rumor is true, I hope Bill spends the pick. Having a wide receiver that tall with speed could make a huge difference in the Patriots offense. It's just a draft pick. Right?

We do have a 4th to offer. I think they would laugh. But...You don't get if you don't ask.

Then I guess he'll be a Brown, cause no one is interested at that price.........not even Elway.

Not sure why you worded it "Not even Elway"? Pretty sure Elway has been one of the better GM's in the NFL over the past 5 years and hasn't really made that huge blunder type trade like that. Our worst trade so far with Elway is maybe a 6th round pick for Vernon Davis where he didn't do jack squat for us. Throw in the Broncos are just fine at the WR position. Wouldn't surprise me if a couple of them we cut end up on other teams or at least on some practice squads.

What I was saying though was for the Browns at this time it makes no sense to trade him for anything less than a 2nd. He can obviously help your team in a big way when he gets done with his suspension. He has a very low cap hit under $1 million. So with your young WR core always nice to have a dominant veteran like him to add to the mix and help out whoever is playing QB. So unless some team makes a great offer to the Browns especially after the show that Gordon just put on it makes 0 sense for them to trade him for anything less than what they are asking.

Just think how good Gordon would look on Denver with the Broncos QB throwing to him.....
Wait - what???? Sanchez?????

Well the nice thing for the Broncos is it doesn't look like Sanchez will even make the team. Nice to know we have 2 QB's that are better than Sanchez on the roster. Makes me feel a bit better about our chances to actually have a competent offense.

Wait, two QBs better than Sanchez doesn't equate to very much.

Well depends how much better than Sanchez. At this point all I know is they are better than Sanchez as he might be cut or traded sometime this week. How much better we just have no clue since neither of them have played in an actual regular season game other than a kneel down for Siemian. Siemian looked pretty good today though. Not a guy that will take a ton of risk and his interception was a head scratcher as it was easy to see the ball hit the ground but came right back the next drive for a nice touchdown drive. He won't be a top-10 QB by any means but should be solid enough to let our defense go out and win us games again.

Just giving you crap. Siemian did look good though. If Sanchez is cut this week there will be many here saying I told you so. Even though we had the Bronco die hards telling us how Sanchez was in early. Studying, working out... sometimes you need some talent sprinkled in.

I figured you were NW. I told people a while ago Sanchez was brought in to compete but that more likely he would be a back up. There are things to like about his game and honestly the more you get to know the guy he is really a good guy off the field. It is hard to hate him. He is great with the media. He is great with the fans and especially the community. He also has those moments where he makes a great play and you start to think "maybe it has finally clicked" but he always reminds you pretty quickly that he is Mark Sanchez. I wish him well and I do think he will end up on a roster as he is a good 3rd string QB for somebody. You never want him to start obviously but if you need him you could do worse.

Maybe he goes to Dallas with Romo likely out 6-10? It's easier for a NE fan to hate him, after all he played for the Yets. I wish the Jests couls actually field a competitive team year in and year our. I'd love to have a reason to hate them more:dhd::mad2:

I figure Sanchez helped get you guys quite a few victories so you would be a huge Sanchez fan! Honestly I am a bit surprised with how he lost this job. He had a very clear path to becoming an NFL starting QB again with 2 guys with 0 experience in the NFL behind him and yet he found a way to lose to both of them. Great guy but just an even worse QB than I thought.

My point was that Elway always seems to land quality Superstar players. More to the point, no matter how good Gordon is, the Browns couldn't sucker Elway in to giving up a second. It did read odd after re-reading it. It wasn't intended to be a slur. My apologies for the seeming ill intent.

You are fine. Like you said just a bit weird worded making it sound like Elway is this huge risk taker that throws away picks. I would say that team right now in the league is the Cowboys but with all the trouble they have had my guess is they cool it for a bit.

even if they decided to try this does anyone honestly think he will actually play the entire season and NOT get suspended or do something stupid and break and Pats rule?
