Should the Final Four be broadcast by a Major Network?

ABC and ESPN are both either owned by Disney? Or they are just in some kind of biz alliance?

CBS has a number of cable channels, I believe.


OH wait! I'm thinking channels... not cable networks. I was thinking the major networks have cable channels, so that was why I was thinking, why not show the games on the cable channels..


I'm all confused now.

I was thinking you meant cable providers when you said outlets, so that's my bad. I'm pretty sure Comcast is the only provider that actually owns any networks (since TWC split from TW)

But yeah there are plenty of giant media companies that own the individual networks. CBS/Viacom has a couple dozen. Comcast has several under the NBC/Universal umbrella, and as you mentioned Disney has several as do AOL/TW.

I was watching on TNT and was thinking to myself, "these announcers are TOTALLY rooting for Kentucky". Then I realized that it was Kentucky's announcers and Wisconsin's are on truTV.. LMAO at me.

BTW, I think I gotta listen to Kentucky's announcers over Wisconsin's even though I am rooting for Wisconsin because Wayne Larrivee is such a tool.

Everyone must chase the dollar. I assume the bottom line is what ultimately dictated the decision for the ff not to be broadcast on CBS.


There's not much debating the pro's and con's of the best financial decision.

But if I had my way, I would want it available on CBS as well as cable.

My point is, it is inconsequential which station I have to tune the TV to to see the game. It is the CBS announcers on the station I am watching.

The national cable station they are on is broadcasting in Hi-Def.

If it was only in 4:3 low def digital, it would matter.

I could see someone who does not have cable/satellite caring because they would not be able to see the game. Otherwise, I don't see why one would care.

If you don't think that's a valid viewpoint, that is fine, but until they throw me out, I think I'll stick around.
