Oakland is scheduled to release Rolando McClain, the 8th overall pick of the 2010 draft, on Tuesday in a move that will save the Raiders $7.26 million. Should the Bengals sign the troubled player if a cap friendly incentive based contract can be worked out? I say yes. While his off the field issues are troubling there is no doubt the talent is there and I believe the Bengals have a strong enough coaching staff and locker room to reign in this wayward player.

Sure, lets sign Odel Thurman, Lawrence Phillips and Ray Caruth too.

No. Yeah, off the field trouble found him, but he sucked ass on the field as well.

I know he was a high draft pick, but I'm not sure if that equates with talent in this case..

He has chronic ankle issues that have hurt his speed. He seems to lack NFL instincts as well..

I'd pass on him unless it's a leauge-minimum signing to compete for a roster spot.

H wasn't terrible as a Raider, but I'm not sure he is worth the trouble.

It could be a matter of scheme and coaching, but he's looked unimpressive to me. he looks slow and is always out of position. he's been similar to Rey M, but he's injury prone and a bad lockerroom presence. Zimmer's done a great job with reclamation projects, so it could work, but i'd have to be no risk (ie low contract)

He is faster than Maualuga by a good amount from what I've watched.
