It'd only be fair if every player would be eligible to do the same. I like the three year rule myself.

I think the NFL should only hire players with a degree. If the player can get his degree in 3 years (summer school, advanced credit, extra hours), he can go early. Clowney has only had 2 years, and I'd hate to see football turn into the ridiculous rotation that basketball has. My taxes pay for Clowney and I think he (and others) should have to stay.

Don't want to take thread off track, and obviously there's no way I'm going to vote not to have JD on my team next year. But to comment on the bold - the 1 and done is ridiculous. BBall should be like college baseball, where you can either enter the draft after high school, or consent to play at least 3 years. If the NBA wants a one-year training program, they can pay for it themselves - what's going down now is a travesty.

System would get gamed. You would see the "experts" start getting trips to say that someone projects in the top 3 rounds just to get them moved out.

I like this idea myself. Make them earn something off of the football field. And fuck how college b-ball does things.
