Paterno still the head Lion - but should he be?

I remember when Paul "Bear" Bryant Retired from Alabama. He died only four weeks after retiring.

In a way, Penn State football may be huge in keeping JoePa alive.

I have a lot of respect for JoePa and what he has done at Penn St and just being a classy coach but JoePa isn't even really the coach anymore. He is a figurehead.

At some point, folks might worry about JoePa's saftey on the sideline. But then again, Mrs. B was running over peoples' toes with her cart at the NFM way into her 90's.

And on top of all his greatness, saw a Penn State guy talking on his blog about the fact the football program had never had an NCAA violation, ever. I didn't look this up for myself, but he treated it as a verifiable fact. That is flipping amazing with all the stuff flying around right now with various programs.

he has a young group of players right now, AT THE VERY LEAST he should be able to coach these players through their college careers.
