Should Drake Maye Start the Season from the Outset?

Not until they get the O-line fixed. Tough schedule to start the season. Let him sit, stay safe and learn. See where we're we are at and start him mid to late season to get expirence for next year. Hopefully, they can address the O-line issues by then.

Starters not used as much as advertised. 4th string defense sucked. Milton at WB was mixed- he missed a few and receivers out of position. O-line play mixed.
Lots of work left . 1st half decent, 2nd half non-competitive

I think he did look good because he was being compared to Cam Newton, who threw the ball into the dirt. Jones was never mobile. And he was always going to be a sitting duck for a pass rush.

Start him. What’s he going to learn from watching a less qualified QB( Brissett). The oline will take time to gell and get better. Maye is very mobile which will help. He doesn’t seem like a weak ass pussy like Mac Jones. Let Maye start getting comfortable with the young WR’s and build upon it.

General thinking seems to be, they need to protect Maye against possible injury … so what happens if Brissett gets injured? They need to get creative and scheme around poor O line play, and sign a few linemen on 1-2 year deals.

There is no update yet on Brissett’s injury last night …
