Questions -- Richardson has had some off field issues, however he is a young talented player that fills a huge need for us in 2017. The Jets are 12 million OVER the cap in 2017
Could we get this guy for a 4th or lower?
Is it likely with the off field issues we would even take a shot on him?
I'm going to assume since he is a 8million dollar back-up, New York will attempt to get something for him for him, instead of just cutting him.

I've seen this mentioned in other threads, more curious now since we have cap space.

I got the Jets at just under $8m over and I think Wilkerson costs minimum a third and a conditional next year. Mainly because he is young, highly talented and the Jets will want to maximize his value if he is dealt. When talking trade the first thing I figure is... if the shoe were on the other foot, what would I want for said player if its some one we are thinking of bringing in.

When we talk of trading players, first thing I asks is.... would I give up that much to get said named player.

I agree with all of that, you DO mean Sheldon right though? I think to sign free agents and rookies, he will have to get cut -- my math could be wrong at the moment. Not saying he isn't worth it, but Scott won't give up a 3rd for a guy with 2 strikes.

My bad, yes Richardson. Clicked on JETS D-line and some how I ended up on Wilkerson.

Still got to think the Jets are going to want more than a 4th for a guy that young. Also have to figure, it would be a draft pick for a one year rental who if he works out could cost a grip later on down the line.

According to Overthecap and Spotrac he is under contract for 2017.

He is a back-up. Would you guys take a 4th rounder for a back-up that was making too much? lol, somewhat of an unfair question. to the rest of the Redskins brethren I know we have an extra 4th and 5th right?

The thing is the Jets don't want skin'emall anymore anyway because of Leonard Williams.
Skin'emall is showing signs of being a negative locker room influence, and its possible other teams won't even offer you a 5th. I doubt Revis is going to cooperate, and cutting Mangold would be shocking.
Sadly I do see your point, the Jets could capitalize on our desperation or rather need for defensive linemen

i am not going to tell you i know the contract status of jets players . i wouldnt trade for him

Richardson also bumped heads a few times with Brandpon Marshall last year. Which in and of itself is no biggie, but with his off field issue, which was pretty fuckin stupid if I'm remembering correctly. Dust ups with Marshall and what still appears to be a shakey Redskins locker room when it comes to leadership. I'm not feeling Richardson.

The dude from Philly as well as 0other NGs/DTs who will be available via FA I think is a good enoiugh pool for the Skins to snag a better than serviceable NG/DT.
