What pick will Shedeur go and is he worth it?

Has he earned all the hype that is around him or is this just big-time daddy ball???

QB draft topic is still on the front page.

Imo he'll be pick 2 or 3. Just not sure which team.

He's played well in college with some crappy OLs, but I don't think he's faced many good/great defenses. On the otherh and, I do think he's a fairly smart QB and is willing to throw away instead of forcing things/playing heroball... just feels like some of those escapes he's made at the college level end up as sacks or worse against NFL talent. Still think he's one of the few QBs I'd consider in the first few rounds

Thats the one thing that gives me pause. Sanders looks the part but he doesn't really have that same level of competition (and high level of play against that competition) that Burrow, Stroud and Daniels had coming out.

Mods should merge this with the QB class topic

Just read that a whopping 40% of Sanders passes were screens/RPOs. That explains his high completion %, and tells us how little time he spent actually reading bad Big12 defenses. Because, of the other 60% of his passes, a large % were broken plays where he scrambled.

And he also had an average of 3.47 seconds to throw, yet still took 31 sacks.

Have you watched the guy play? He looks as good as just about any other 1st round QB that's ever been drafted.
Yes, I’ve watched him. He holds the ball way too long, which makes his o line look like shit, stares down his first read. He’s a 4th round pick who needs to sit a couple of years

I'm not that sold on him either... He'll have to read defenses much better at this level...
Yeah I watched him Pullman where his dumbass held the ball so long just to throw it to Hunter but Hunter was getting punked the whole game so he took hit after hit. He got hurt cause he held the ball so long and Deion was going Jimmy Lake on his o lineman but it’s Deion so it’s “passion” not Lake’s “thuggishness”

I remember that game as well. If Hunter wasn’t open, he was getting hit.

I think Shedeur will be the second QB taken in the 2025 draft. I’m honestly not sure if he’ll turn out to be a quality NFL QB or not, but I’m not sold on him. I’m not sold on any QB this year to be honest. And I wouldn’t want to draft him because I think Deion will meddle in his son’s career constantly and I wouldn’t want that drama. But there’s definitely a possibility he’s a good NFL QB.

This. I'm a U.Cincy fan - so being in the B12, I've seen a few of the Colorado games.

He's good. Is he "great", I'm not sure - but he's certainly got the physical talents. His ability to scramble plus his arm is going to give him a shot.

However, as you pointed out - he's going to have to prove he can read defenses, and his offensive skill players were worlds better than what most B12 teams had on defense.

He'll likely go in the top 3, but I think if I had the 1st overall pick and needed a QB - I'd likely lean Ward, personally.

FWIW - I feel a lot better about the long-term potential of Sanders than I did/do Caleb Williams. Sanders has been around the flash of the NFL and sports his whole life - he's more/most likely to not let this all be a distraction and get him off where he wants to be as a player. I think he's got a nice head on his shoulders, but like I said - I think he needs to show a lot more than just throwing 3 yards or less and letting his super talented WR's do the majority of the heavy lifting.

I still think he holds onto the ball waaaaaaaaaaaay tooo long. Does he have talent.... Yes, does he have "the name" Yes...

Which QB in this draft goes ahead of him though?

He has shockingly average athleticism considering who his dad is. His post snap processor is very good and he has solid accuracy to all levels of the field.

His arm is below average by NFL standards, so he has little forgiveness on his timing. I think he could be a more athletic, slightly stronger armed Chad Pennington, which is a good QB, and he will go top 5. If he was in last years QB class he may not have been a 1st round pick.

Im not sold one way or the other on him.

I just know his daddy had to build his empire starting at the mud line... Shedeur has been sipping the whip cream since he was old enough to hold a football...

Will be interesting to see how he does in "the real world"
