I know he's a fan punching-bag, but I thought he played well last week and seemed to be adjusting after looking lost week 1. News outta Halas Hall is that he injured his hand in practice and the more I read about it, the more it sounds serious and that he could miss some significant time.

Now, I don't know if there is a significant difference between him and Bostic, but it is depth, either way. Plus, if it's too long, it'll be another season and offseason of questions about the former first rounder and it'd make it awfully hard to really evaluate his progression or lack thereof.

Let me be the optimist. Injuries are opportunities. Sucks that Shea is missing some of his opportunity, but lets see what Bostic looks like when he can just focus on his job rather than the horse race, or Christian Jones with the snaps he may get.

Remember, Urlacher got beat out (didn't even look close) by Colvin for the slb job. But when Barry Minter got dinged up and he got a chance to play his natural position, he became the droy and one of the best lbs of his generation. When Conway, our best offensive weapon at the time, got injured we had to turn to mrob who was considered a bust and was almost cut in training camp. He did great with what was really his first true opportunity and got robbed of a pro bowl.

Lets see who seizes opportunities and who doesn't. Not just at lb, but I want to see Fuller play his A game with consistency, Vereeniging prove he was worth trading up for while Conte is dinged, I want to see what Sutton and Ferguson step up with Ratliff dinged and let's see if Ross can put the return woes to bed (Perry's injury is general badness). If we can identify two or three bona fides in the bunch, that would be huge not only for this year but for next offseason as well.

Yea, hearing he broke a bone in his hand.... For sure out this week, he could play after if they wrap the hand into a ball/club. He did play well last week. Best I've ever seen him play, as a Bear.

Nice- going back to Marcus Robinson, Conway, Minter! ^^ that's a Bears fan! Agreed- let's see what these kids can do. I'm encouraged we have some better depth then last year. And it's good to know we will get most of these guys back soon. (unlike last year when it seemed EVERYONE was out for the year or 7-8 games.)

Difference with Bostic is I think Bostic is gonna hit alot harder and that takes its toll during a game. Basically getting half the field to cover I am looking forward to seeing more Bostic playing every down.

It is week three, and that was the week DJ williams finally started to play last year, so we have that going for us too.

Different playing DLine with a club than linebacker though.
