The Sharks signed forward Adam Burish to a four-year, $7.4 million contract.

Burish, 29, played mostly on the fourth line in Dallas last season. He had six goals, 13 assists, 76 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating.

Burish has 25 goals and 29 assists with 490 penalty minutes in 297 career games. He played his first four seasons in Chicago, winning the Stanley Cup in 2010.

Burish is a former college linemate of Sharks forward Joe Pavelski at Wisconsin.

It would seem Douggie overpaid for his "playoff experience" guy once again.

Burish is definitely a nice role player, and sounds like he works his ass off. I like all that. Don't like the 4 years at almost $2M per year. I'm sure he will be a good addition, just think that's a little steep.
After reading Wilson's comments, I think he's hoping the way Burish plays rubs off some of these other guys. Not sure a guy who's been mostly a 4th liner can effect a team like that. You'd like to see your top players, guys like Parise, play that way.

blah blah blah... he works hard... blah blah blah, he tries his best, yadda yadda yadda.

Trying hard doesnt give you goals and keep them out of your net. Trying hard AND being an actual good player does. I wont question his work ethic but Torrey mitchell tries hard too. Frazer mclaren worked hard. Hell, benny ferriero surely tried his best.

Few players dont try hard, but having little actual ability overrides effort.

its a shitty signing and helps nothing.

Rules, unfortunately, I can name a lot of guys on the Sharks that don't give their all game in and game out.

Come on dude, Burish has a CUP RING MAN!! He works hard and has a F'in ring!! That means he's a great pickup... Just like Niemi man, he HAS A RING!!!! Goalies like that dont come around very often so you have to jump on it... Adding rings to the roster automatically makes you a cup contender... lol

And I love your point bout Mitchell and company working hard too.... Shit, I work hard, can I have a 2mil contract dougie?? Ill even be happy with the role of practise goalie. I may suck, but hey, I work hard haha

I wonder if Bracken Kerns works hard... And every time I read his name I think of a grocery store chain or Clash of the Titans... RELEASE THE BRACKEN!!!!! (that should be played whenever he makes a line change)

The longer Doug Wilson is the Sharks GM, the longer the Sharks will go without a Stanley Cup.

Looks like thats about what those guys are bringing in... still seems too expensive to me but I guess we will see. I would rather have Simmonds or maybe Ponikarovsky at that number but at least we got our big FA signing out of the way early this year.

Winnik scores another 2 tonight for Anaheim... so 4 in 2 games for those of us counting.

Small sample size but I am still pissed that Dougie fucked up real bad letting that guy walk... and spending more money on this Burish loser who adds nothing to the team.

Sigh.
