I think that if he can he should play Cousins. I think Cousins can be as good as RG3, maybe better from a pure qb stand point. And at this point what does Shannahan or even the Redskins have to lose?

I don't like Shanahan but I like RGIII even less. He's an arrogant, self promoting child. Shanahan should just leave them high and dry. It's a no win situation.

Shanahan was a great coach at one time IMO, but his performance in the last 5-6 years of his coaching career has been pretty mediocre. He'll be 62 next year, and there are a lot of up and coming coaching candidates out there. I think he's done as a HC.

If I were the Redskins I'd want a defensive guy to come in there. Maybe even Rex Ryan if NY cans him.

Why? what has he done recently that makes you think he is an improvement? I've seen some pretty inept offense in Washington, he hasn't used RG3 all that well, how is going to handle Colin? I'm not interested in Shannahan as OC at all.

he did guide the team to the playoffs last year. his problem has always been picking defensive players. he needs a solid gm to call the shots, but dont think shanahan's ego would allow that.

RGIII hasn't been right all season and he should have been sitting until he was completely healthy and ready to go. They could have started Cousins all season and seen how he played, known if he's a career backup or has a shot at being an NFL started. That would have established his value and allowed them to potentially trade him to get some picks back they lost in getting RGIII.

Thank Goodness. Pierre Garcon has been struggling the last few weeks to get any kind of yardage, at least Cousins (Redskins Franchise Holder for Most Passing Yards in a Game by a Rookie) can move the ball downfield through the air.
