Seriously, why hasn't Franco been called up

This is getting old real fast. How can anyone respect this franchise? Why would any prospect want to sign with this team? Knowing no matter what you won't get called up within 5-6 years

Like I stated elsewhere, this franchise is in complete disarray. Sending Asche down, not bringing up Franco, going with Sizemore, Utley, Francoeur, Howard, and Brown is just nuts. Again, the Phillies are rapidly becoming the club where players go to have their careers destroyed.

franco's callup date is may 15th. there was no reason to let him start the year with the last place phils and lose a year of his free agency.

the move of asche is 100% needed as well. franco is an above average 3rd baseman, definitely better than asche. it wouldn't make sense to waste franco at 1st and leave cody there. so he needs some work in the outfield now. hopefully it sticks and he's back up quickly.

plus it puts a permanent end to any platoon talk between the two.

If the Franco - Asche move works out at the plate the way it's supposed to, the Phils on paper could have a good young team with Revere, Herrera, Galvis, and Rupp, and the best of Ruf/Brown. I have my doubts though since half these guys still need to prove they can be consistent hitters.

I'll give you "young" I guess, but on paper that team would score about 2 runs a game, much like they are currently doing. Who would have thought that this far into the season Galvis would be hitting 100 points higher than anyone else on the team

Definitely, a good point Cedrique. I was really thinking about their initial accomplishments this season, i.e., Galvis, Asche, and surprising Herrera, and expectations on Franco. So the possibility is there but with different additional personnel.
