And now back to your regularly scheduled GNT.
What the heck! They call a high stick on Beej on a follow through! THAT'S NOT A PENALTY! I hope Winchester's okay....but that's NOT a penalty.
60.1 High-sticking - A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players and goalkeepers must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.
The worst thing is that the Senator commentator's didn't even know the rules. They kept saying that "the refs are pretty lenient on follow-throughs" and "usually that is let go".
No, you idiots, it's NOT a penalty:
Yeah, Gonchar has been less then stellar so far...
And Gologoski has been lights out for the Pens so far....working out good for the Pens so far....

No, you idiots, it's NOT a penalty:
I remember when Hossa nearly took Berard's eye out. He got a double minor for it and it was a follow through. It was nasty but a follow through none the less.
Point being that I've seen it called before.
Well, it's not in the rules, unless Hossa had an "abnormal" follow-through. And it wasn't called here, they got the wrong guy, they gave the penalty to Hutchinson.
Doesn't change the fact that the commentators didn't know the rule.
