Nick has been in and out of the lineup, and the Jackets / Media haven't said much about why. But they just talked to him between periods and he seems willing to let it be known now. They've pretty much kept it all somewhat down low at his request.

His wife gave birth to a baby girl who had a Congenital Heart Defect. She had a few surgeries and a few rough nights, but earlier this week she had one more surgery that was apparently quite successful and the little Foligno is decidedly in "recovery" phase. Still not out of the woods by any means, but seemingly well onto the right path.

You should have seen the joy in his face when he said he scored the goal tonight for her. I seriously almost teared up myself.

Thoughts and prayers to the whole Foligno family, particularly little Malina. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Glad to hear his little girl is on the path to recovery. Nothing scarier than being so helpless and scared when something like that happens to your kid.

Prayers as well to her and his Family.

Sick babies are just...all the onions man. Can't imagine the amount of sleepless nights and anxiety they've been going through.
