If he wants to sign with the texans maybe he isn't as bright as some say....
Actually, Houston isn't a bad place to go. Play in a controlled environment in the weakest division in the NFL. Plus, if they are willing to give him more money, it makes sense for Brock.

This story is a negotiating ploy - it's the season where all sides in the NFL have a motivation to throw dirt in our eyes.

I would say LA or Houston wouldn't be bad options for him. Both have very good rosters. In LA he would have a strong run game to take some of the pressure off of him plus a top-10 defense. My guess is Houston if they got Osweiler would draft either Elliot or Henry to try and help him get a strong run game plus again another great defense.

See but you are viewing this through a Brock vs. whoever. The thought with Brock is that he is reaching a price that means we have to cut talent elsewhere. Let me point it to you in another way...

would you rather have
Brock Osweiler or...

Colin Kaepernick, Malik Jackson, and a 3rd round pick from Osweiler signing a huge deal elsewhere and us getting a Comp Pick.

Because that is what we are talking about here is trying to figure out how best to spend our money to get the best 53 on the field. Is Kapernick +Malik worth more to this team than just Osweiler in terms of wins this next yea?
Number 1. We are not going to keep Malik so let's throw that out. But.....if in a that would be fine with me,no prob but my issue is all this talk about any of these other guys just stepping in and Denver has a " better " shot to REPEAT or as good of shot. If your talking let Brock walk, bring in Kap,draft a qb, let them all compete but kiss a SB good bye, then I'm all in. Just don't tell me it's a recipe for a repeat. :) That's been my argument.

We had the combined worst QB play of any team in the league this past season...You telling me that we can't upgrade on that? I mean not like Brock lit the world on fire.

Interesting that this story is released on the day Manning officially announces his retirement ..

I tend to agree with Mingo in that there are reasons stories like this are put out there ...

With that said, I would be fine with Brock next season, as I think he fits here well ... However, I would be ecstatic with Kaepernick .... I think Kap would transform this offense into something truly special

Never thought I would hear you say that Manning wasn`t instrumental in winning SB 50. I don`t care what stats you throw out there, without Manning and Oz,we don`t win. If your saying that we could of played Kap or RG or any of the other qbs you guys are fist pumping on and Denver would of had a better shot or as well of a shot at winning SB 50 then your not just disrespecting those two qbs and undermining their value to the teams win and your basing your assumption on the "stats" theory as some kind of proof, is mind boggling to me. I never said we couldn`t upgrade on the qb position at all. As a matter of fact I`ve stated many times that if Denver is to repeat, that position has to get better. Just don`t tell me that RG3 and Kap are an upgrade when you have no idea and neither has shown anything lately to substantiate that. Tell you what, if Brock isn`t signed and Denver has to go with any of your " upgrades" that are out there and that you guys say are better than Manning or Brock and they actually beat out Siemiean somehow ( excluding Fritz ) I will tell you right now that Denver won`t even qualify for the playoffs. I`ll also add...if Kap and RG3 somehow manage to beat out anybody wherever they end up and that team doesn`t finish .500 or below, I`ll eat all your hats.I guess we`ll find out Gents won`t we. :)

I'm pretty surprised there hasn't been more rumors about the Browns being interested in Brock. I think Hue had a pretty close look at Brock during the Bengals game - and that would free them up to get one of the top two players in the draft.

Maybe Oz did not see that revolving door of QB's that Houston has had the only time they were stable was with Gary Kubiak as there coach ..

If he really went this far as to say this see ya ..He said all the right things .. but now we know he was really pissed

I absolutely want Brock Osweiler to be the quarterback of the Denver Broncos for the foreseeable future. Sure, there are some doubts but I don't see a better option. Not Kaep, RGII, Fitz or any other rookie has more upside than Oz. I don't think we'll keep Malik on our roster. I continue to believe that he will be more easily replaceable than a quarterback that has been developing as a Bronco for four years. I thought Osweiler's play was pretty damn good during his 7 game run and I distinctly remember many more Broncos fans saying the same thing. Funny how things can change in a month and a half. At this point, I would bet on Brock.

......just not for more than 14 million per year.

@randymon and @MileHigh64 at least for me I am not saying get rid of the guy. The problem has become that his demands contract wise might be too much. At $14 million or less yes I say keep him. The problem is it sounds like a bidding war is erupting at $15 million a year is the starting point. I'm only bringing up these alternatives if Osweiler prices himself out of Denver. I like Osweiler but not sure what he is and cannot justify at least in my head paying him top QB money. Needs to show me more than what we have seen. I think that is where Elway is as well. He already said he didn't think this would be Os's big contract. I think some team though will go ahead and give him that big contract.

I'm with cd on this one. I certainly don't want to get into a bidding war over Brock. It is what it is. I disagree that Kaep can't succeed in this offense. He's tailor made for it. Kubiak runs a qb friendly offense. He can make all the throws, is a home run hitter with his legs. And his salary is 12mm for this season. Why not?

I'm all for Brock, as I think that what he did this past season showed that he could step into a very difficult situation and be calm, confident and successful ...

I don't think anyone here is disagreeing with that ...

However, if his contract demands become out of proportion to what the team can realistically do, I think we should move on ..

I will say - actually, I've probably beaten it to death already - that Kap could realistically make this a Top 10 offense, and force teams to completely change how to game plan for us ..

If given a choice, I'd want Kap over Oz ... but that doesn;t mean that I'm down on Oz at all ..

I just feel that while both QBs could run this offense very well, opposing defenses would have to do a lot more if facing Kaepernick ..

He took the 9ers to the SB with a lot less on offense than we have here right now ... He has never had a WR with the talents of Sanders or Thomas ... Not to mention the fact that the coaching staffs he has played under could be considered unhealthy as far as stability
