Since we're baseball-less for a couple more days, let's talk about the upcoming second half. Make any predictions you have concerning any topic of your choosing.

Here are mine:

The Bucs regress to a solid pace, not the 100-win pace from earlier this season, but something closer to an 85-90 win pace. Their post-break record will fall somewhere between 36-33 and 38-31, pushing their final record to 92-70 to 94-68, good for the second Wild Card spot in the NL.

They'll add a decent bat like Aoki or a similar player and a middle reliever without giving up significant prospects, and the additions will contribute. There will also be a couple bench upgrades, and we'll see no more of Inge or Snider.

Fair assessment and a good read...I think they get that bat in the lineup they so desperately need and win the NL Central...but that's why they play the games isn't it? Pyrats are solid, just lacking 1 more consistent top 6 bat is all.:suds:

I think Sanchez might be even more a defensive liability than The Fort, if that's even possible.

I heard he was having some problems earlier in the year, are they still going on?

Sanchez was having throwing issues into June, but that was the last I heard of it. I haven't heard much since. I've watched a couple of Indianapolis games recently and he hasn't had issues throwing the ball back to the mound, so... I'm assuming that's not an issue.

Why? By all accounts I have read, Sanchez is a stellar defender. Had a few issues throwing earlier this year, but other than that has been good enough defensively that that one trait alone should get him to the majors. If you have read otherwise could you post links?

Yeah. He's got the throwing yips, and I'm talking about just back to the pitcher. I saw a few highlight clips. It reminds me of Steve Sax throwing to first. I hope he can get past this because he has a golden opportunity to be on the big team with how awful The Fort has been this year.

I hope these issues don't last. He's kind of been slow to come along and I was hoping this might be the year w see him up
