South Carolina signed 3-star DE Devante Covington out of Rockingham, NC He is the 8th commit for the Gamecocks, who pass Vanderbilt to move to 8th place.

Mississippi received two commitments in the last couple of days, from unrated WR Quadarias Mireles (MS), and 3-star OLB Mario Mathis (GA).

Vanderbilt has a new commit, 3-star WR Latevius Rayford (TN). One wonders if it may soon be known as 'The Commodore State'.

And new SEC member Mizzou has a commitment from 3-star OL Clay Rhodes (KS).

While rankings of commits to schools like Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and SCAR tend level out or even drop.

Tennessee recently picked up a commitment from Hutchinson C.C., LB, De'Vondre Campbell.

Yes, Tennessee has picked up a commitment from Hutchinson C.C., LB, De'Vondre Campbell. Mr. Campbell is unrated at the moment. He is the Vols 6th commit.

Missouri has also picked up a new commit, this one 3-star DT Antar Thompson, out of Maplewood, MO. He is the Tigers 11th commit. The SEC is raking them in. Alabama is sitting in 4th, but my gut tells me that Saban is just being picky. And patient.

Missouri picked up its 12th commit in 4th star LB Jake Campos from Des Moines, IO. He had > 5 offers, and looks like a big miss for the Hawkeyes.

South Carolina picked up 3 more commits over the last few days: Connor Mitch, 4-star pro-style QB from Raleigh, NC, David Johnson, 3-star DE from Lithonia, GA, and Devin Washington, 4-star DE from Orlando, FL. The Gamecocks now have 11 commits, and jump 3 places to 6th.

Florida moves to the top of the standings, as they receive a commitment from 3-star WR Marqui Hawkins, from Columbus, GA. Gators have 16 commits.

The Crimson Tide has a new commit, 4-star QB Cooper Bateman from Salt Lake City, UT. The quality of 'Bama's class so far is eye-popping: of their 12 commits: 9 are 4* or 5*.

LSU has a commitment from 4-star wideout Quantavius Leslie of Raymond, MS. Tigers have 9 commits.

Vandy has added a commit, 3-star WR Gerald Perry from Memphis, TN. Commodores up to 9.

Finally, Mississippi is having a nice early recruiting season - they now have a commitment from Mark Dodson, Jr. 4-star RB and also from Memphis.
