No, great weekend for UK, UF and Tenn. The rest of the SEC is terrible.

Have you been watching the NIT? There are two other SEC teams that were better bubble teams than the ones we got.

:agree:

That is true... and it works for every conference. One reason people say Florida is overrated this year isn't because of anything they have done... but because "the SEC is down"

Same with the B1G... they keep higher ranking because "they are all beating each other up in the best conference"

What is ironic about that is come football season, the same people using that as validation in basketball season, refuse to acknowledge it in football season (e.g. SEC football).

But I do agree. That fact that Florida wiped the court with Kentucky and Tenn this year more than once does help me validate that we could have beaten common opponents much easier (e.g. Wichita State)

people that try to say Florida is overrated because of the SEC are morons. They are less tested in conference though, nobody (besides Runeman) can deny that.

Wait, MIT has major sports teams? I'd love to see them playing some hockey against BU or BC hahahaha

Yeah Ice Hockey is not my thing. I tried to play intramural ice hockey at RPI (upstate NY) once and laid on the ice most of the time. RPI had a good team in those days as well.

Sorry but the NIT doesn't prove that in any way, shape or form

True... also the coaches all know each other which makes it a bit easier... and the players have played each other multiple times. Hell, Tenn shocked up a few times in the last few years.... they have been our nemisis.

We also should have lost at Arkansas this year and it took a miracle to win that game.

But OOC isn't an issue for us as Billy always schedules solid opponents (although no Zona this year!)... we had Wisky and UCONN (before our players were off suspension which sucked)... and we also had Kansas, Memphis, Richmond, and Fresno State. So no shame there...

That is a tough statement... because you have to know a fans background.

I myself was born and raised in Knoxville with parents and an entire family of UT alumni. I wanted to play ball for UT to follow in my dads footsteps, but they didn't want me. I played in the Northeast for a year and then got recruited down to Florida by a coach I knew from Penn 5 star basketball camp. So I left for Florida having NEVER visited the school once. I had a great time.

So I have love for Florida and Tenn... I also have lived for extended periods of time in Louisville and I currently have been in Fayetteville for 7 years. So if you love sports and want to go to games, you kinda have to support the local teams. So unless Florida is here, I wear Hog gear to games. When Florida is here, I were my Gator gear... and generally most fans are hospitable although last year some country old man spit in my wife's face for no reason so we had a little altercation with police and he lost his season tickets and the charges against me were dropped (thankfully hog fans around the area were on my side).

After undergrad my company paid for me to get my master's so I then went to grad school at MIT and then at Kellogg (Northwestern) so I spent a lot of time with the B1G... problem is NW and MIT pretty much suck at all major sports... although NW makes a push sometimes like they did this year in basketball and have in football before.

I also have really good friends who I watch sports with that are die hard tOSU fans... and although I give them a hard time, I do root for OSU when they aren't playing the SEC.

So, you're probably smart and loaded. Well done, sir.

I got drunk one night and was with some frat brothers... Joe Juneau was on the RPI team at that time and we knew him. He was skating and we wanted to see how hard a check was and how it felt. So obviously since we were drunk (and he was in full gear after his skate) we only wore a helmet... rest of my attire was bar wear (jeans, sneakers, etc.) and took a hit from him standing still with him skating relatively fast. It wasn't as bad as a check moving in opposite directions obviously... but I was sore for a few days and think I broke a rib as I had trouble breathing for a few days.

Funny thing is the more schooling I did... the more I tried to figure out ways to get OUT of the corporate life. You will never get rich working for someone else.

So I started my own business and do well.

Unfortunately smart and educated usually equal risk averse which can be a bad thing... take risk, and do what you love. The money will come if you are passionate about what you do.

I couldn't believe Tennessee even got in the tourney tbh. I thought they looked horrible when playing good teams. All they had was big men but theyre overpowering the competition so far. Yeah they'll get killed by Michigan though anyways since they're playing a really good team for once

Tennessee - Michigan will be a good game. Michigan lacks a true center and power forward. Morgan will have to bring his A-game (he is capable of having a few solid outings) Horford will back him up but he's soft and GR3 (most likely) will have to play balls out at the 4 (probably see some zone). Michigan is really just loaded with shooting guards. Lights out shooting is a must against bigger teams but it's what they do best.

what do you do?

I ran divisions of CPG companies for a long-time (Proctor and Gamble, etc.).. and now consult in the same arena. I am sure you can figure out why I am in NW Arkansas if you look hard enough online (world's largest company is here.. which means the rest of the world's largest companies have large offices here).

Pretty much Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Finance, Supply Chain, etc. I am an expert in Retail Environment so a lot of suppliers and tertiary companies to those suppliers want me to consult. I have worked with every retailer in the country at some point or another... and some international. Lived in Hong Kong for a few years and did Direct Import for a company where I made a ton of connections.

I own a consulting company now but work in the same arena.

The problem with my corporate life was having a capped salary of $x and no matter how hard I work or how much money I make a company... I never get more than $x. And they try to kill you work hours wise.. and I spent 50% of my time managing HR issues and people issues which I HATE.

Now, my income directly reflects my investment which is literally 10-20 fold higher (and I actually work less and my stress level is 1/10th of what it was).

No, not at all. All the shit teams who didn't make the NCAA tourney play in this irrelevant tourney. Could care less about the NIT. I have UF winning it all, btw in my bracket.

My only point is maybe the SEC was the worst conference, but everything is relative. I don't think it was as bad as people made it out to be.
