Did we get hosed on this trade? We needed a top pitching prospect, doesn't seem like we got one.

4 errors, HBP, 2 balks, some real bad AB's and HR or bust this team is tough

Was hoping we would at least get something simular to what we gave for Hamels, led by a SP prospect though.

Wasn't going to happen for a rental, Hamels was controllable for years which is why we had to give up as much as we did

Yeah, you are right. Wasn't thinking there. Sure hope the pitching prospect at least can contribute in the near future though. Unless we can sign some quality SP, its looking like we might be headed back to the Rangers of old.

Won't be that near. Year out of high school and just started pitching

Most ranger fans aren't satisfied I'm thinking.

Some idiots on twitter have been comparing JD to the Mavericks GM. That's probably not a good thing. Everyone who follows the NBA could tell you that the Mavericks try to build a team through only trades and free agency, they're known for not being able to develop players.

No bueno. Man, I've really fell out of the loop on baseball this season but from as far removed as I have been, it sure seems like we have drifted away from the successful pitching model we had. Do we have some good SP prospects I should know about?

I was totally in favor of trading Darvish, even was happy when I heard a trade went through. However, looking at the return, I'm not as confident. Who knows, maybe the headline prospect ends up netting us a good pitching prospect at somepoint though, infield doesn't seen like a huge need but could be wrong. SP is way more important to me.

Never gonna happen considering the years Hamels was controllable for.

For sure, didn't put that into the equation. Was wrong for expecting anything like that. Headline SP prospect would have been nicer but perhaps he wasn't going to bring that. Hope the kiddo is doing well.

Was hoping for better than their #8 pitching prospect. :L

The fact that Hamels is controllable is why I though we should trade him. We could have gotten a lot more for him.

Mendez is the best we have to being major league ready. Baseball America and MLB.com have him as the Rangers #4 prospect.

Like so many pitching prospects before him Mendez has taken a step back right before he should have been ready.

He was really unhappy that he didn't get traded today.
That may be the case, but I was wondering why he intimated that Profar had been hurt a lot lately.
