So in other words the phone call went like this

Rams Front Office: Hey Jon, we are looking for a HC and we wanted to get your take on this McVey Kid

Jon Gurden: He is Super Smart and would be an asset to have around your young QB. He will bring elements of the high powered offense you saw in Washington if you give him the right pieces.

Rams: So you are endorsing him as a Head Coach.

Jon: OK let me simplify this for you.... Please fuk my younger brother because IM the only real HC in the Family any way... I like him.. .but I dont like him like him.... Jay I mean. McVey is the way to go.

Rams: Umm.. OK Jon, thanks for your frankness and honesty.

Jon: Any time homie. :D

This is great for the NFL, not so much for us.
If McVay can make the playoffs in his second year as head coach, he could possibly cut down on the age discrimination that exists for head coaching gigs. He left at the right time. There are so many question marks at the QB position, I really can't be mad he left. Since Kirk has already been franchised once, is it possible he can go to LA, without us getting anything in return???

Man, again I'm happy for him but, I don't know what this means for our team.

Kirk aint going to LA. Unless we some how pull another Portis trade where we give Up Cousins AND a draft pick for Goff straight up.

That still pisses me off to this day. We franchised Bailey, and ended up giving up a draft pick in the damn deal.

Actually kind of means that the Redskins are a halfway decent organization. Nobody tries to get asst coaches from crap teams. Hopefully they go through phases like this for the next 5+ years since it will mean that they are doing things rt and winning.

Dude Cmon. There is enough perhaps to worry and bitch about at the current time. You are also going to use this time to worry about some ancient crap for the Redskins? The main thing that whole thing proved was that nobody should ever be a coach and GM (or pseudo GM) for an NFL team at the same time - not Gibbs, not Shanahan, not anybody!

I'm not suggesting leaving, BUT we aren't possibly looking at Kirk attempting to go to L.A. despite
them drafting Goff. Is that too crazy of a scenario? I'm really drawing a blank

OH I was just pointing out that its the only way Kirk ends up in LA, and there is preceding action to show how it COULD happen. I dont expect it to. But then again I never expected us to give up a Future Hall of Fame CB AND a second round pick for an above average RB either. Any place else the team would have gotten Portis, a first and likely a 3rd for Bailey despite he bitching that he didnt want to be here.

Well, to be fair Potrtis had two 1500 yard rushing seasons, two years of averaging 5.5 ypc and scored 29 TDs in that span. Champ made it clearly known he wanted out of DC. At the very least though the Skins shouuld've gotten the 2nd pk in the deal. That was just the 1st of multiple asinine deals the Skins did during Gibbs 2.0.

And par for the course. The Skins quickly went about making CP something he was not. An in-between the tackles power runner.

Yep - like I said before great chance for our SoCal fans to see the Redskins since they play in LA twice next season. Unfortunately - one of those games is against the Chargers who will be playing in that high school sized stadium this season.

Can always protect some of our staff by blocking interviews - tho I can't imagine that'd create a lot of good will

I seriously doubt it, Marshall Faulk was on a phone interview with a pundit from NFLN. Appartnetly Faulk was included in the hiring/feeling out process of McVay. Not verbatim, but Faulk kinda put to rest the Cousins to LA possibilities I thought with this No offense to Kirk Cousins, but Jared Goff is an arm talent, What McVay did with Cousins was amazing and Jared is really looking forward to working with him.

The pundit also mentioned Goff as well before talking to Faulk and said he was hyped. I got the impression either McVay watched some tape of Goff or actually watched him throw and thought, "yeah, I can work with this." and maybe they had a conversation or two and Goff was like, "yeah I can work with this,"
