Scott's scheme isn't bad. His playcalling sucked.
When it was good he called some good innovative plays here and there but overall way too predictable especially on third down (ie mesh every time). With the weapons we have and an upcoming qb like Howell we should attract Someone I would think.

Just went away from what was working at times. It took him too long to realize the o-line was trash and he couldn't go empty. I understand the firing.

He also way underutilized his TEs, but of course some of that could be his QBs. He is also a scape goat for the lack of offensive production

Little bit of scapegoat going on, no question. Still, you had a top three defense and finished last in your division. Scott lost the locker room. Ron had to do it.

Agree. At least one head had to roll and it wasn’t going to be Ron. Wonder where he will land.

As you guys said Scott will be going along nicely then some weird light bulb would go on.

You have to also say he never had a QB.

Turner wasn't scapegoated. He was a shitty OC. A difficult offense for QBs to learn with a lack of flexibility built in for them at the LOS. That alone should've gotten his monkey ass fired. RR needs to be fired for making him his OC and he didn't do Turner any favors with his shitty OL moves.

The Commanders finished a third consecutive season with poor offensive rankings. They were 20th in total yards and 26th in points. Their best rankings in Turner's three seasons were 23rd in points and 21st in yards -- both occurring last season.

Near the end, players and others in the organization grumbled about the inconsistency of Washington's offensive philosophy. There appeared to be a divide between Rivera's vision for what he wanted offensively -- led by a power run game -- and Turner's vertical passing attack.

Some players complained that it took too long in some games to get the ball to key playmakers such as McLaurin. Or, some players said, they'd get away from a formula that was working in games. Others said they liked the offense but wanted to see changes in the way it was taught. It also was considered a difficult offense for quarterbacks to learn, with perhaps not as much flexibility built in for them at the line of scrimmage.

There was concern throughout the year about the direction of the offense. One source said Rivera sat in on more offensive meetings this season to get a better feel for what was transpiring. One person whose team played Washington this season said the Commanders lacked an offensive identity and simply called a collection of plays, leading to some predictability.

Never had a QB. I think going away from Robinson Jr. in the Giants game is something I'm sure he would do differently.

He was never qualified to begin with. I have no clue why some posters wanted to see what he could do and supported him for 3 years. Weird...
