Rex Ryan carried Schwartz off the field.

Let's bring back Martz to lead the offense, Marinelli for asst head coach, Stan Kwan to head up ST, and Millen back to GM. Let's get all the Lion greats back to help lead this team....to infinity and beyond!!!

I think Schwartz was a good coach for us, he brought the team from worst team in NFL history to competing for the playoffs. Unfortunately he has a bunch of Harbaugh in him, after awhile his act gets tired and he has got to go. I appreciate him helping build this team for the future, I do not think that he would be welcome back by the players, even in a DC role however.

Schwartz beat the Bears ass as a Lion and a Bill. He knows that franchise better than anyone in Chicago.

I won 5k week 1 betting on the Bills vs. the Bears. Easiest $$$ I ever made after seeing how badly Schwartz owned you guys while in the D.
I did not know that, I don't really remember him beating us, I do remember him beating you guys and himself repeatedly. I remember laughing at how moronic he was and how sad I was when he left the D. Honestly I thought he was one of the worst coaches in history. Not a leader of men. But you seem to think highly of him and that is cool. Different opinions is what keeps these boards interesting.

Schwartz did a helluva job with the Titans and Bills. I think he put to much trust in Gunther here in Detroit.

I am surprised he didn't get the Bills job. I think they made a huge mistake switching to a 3-4 when they have 4-3 talent. The Bills offense sucks so they hurt their defense as well???

He's the top DC on the market now. Bears would be lucky to have him.

No, I hate Schwartz on that one and that guy described him pretty accurately there, imo.

Hold the phone. Maybe the second best......Dan Quinn? Let's not put the carrot before the horse here.

Quinn is the top HC candidate while Schwartz is the top DC on the market. If that makes sense. E-cigs.

Ok gotcha. Schwartz definitely peaked with that L to Harbs and the Niners when we were 5-0 but he will always be the guy who saved us from 0-16 and IMO he had major influence helping us get guys like Suh, Fairley and Ansah. Not so sure Mayhew drafts those guys (prob Suh) if Schwartz wasn't our HC then.

Strictly speaking as a DC I don't think teams can do much better. What he did this year for Buffalo was tremendous.

That's probably why I dislike Schwartz so much- he did pull us out of the gutter, and he had the ability to lead us much farther, but his attitude severely limited him. You just can't be that proud and that stubborn and have success in the NFL. You've gotta be flexible, and Schwartz was probably the most rigid coach in the league. He ran the same defense and rushed the same 4 guys all game, every game. He couldn't find a use for many of the players that we're having success with this year. He wouldn't play young players even after we were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Just too much ego, imo, and it limited his ability to keep climbing the coaching hierarchy.

Schwarts is a team destroyer. He clearly puts his ego before the team and his team will never win it all.
