If #UCLA doesn't kneel the ball at the end of the game, the #Huskers would have given up a school record in yards. #Nebraska 653 allowed

OK, let's put it this way: Rice allowed UCLA to gain 646 yards. Nebraska allowed 653. Embarrassing, Pelini said. No doubt about that.

Houston....

You're moving to Houston to console Chuck???????

You doom and gloom guys crack me up.....There were things to be pleased with and some things to be upset about.......

I'm thinking UCLA is a much better football team than any of us homers thought before.....I didn't think they were shit like my uncle and apparently some of you that think the world has just ended.....

I still expected us to win, and pull away towards the later part of the game for a convincing win. UCLA made the halftime adjustments and late in the game, they controlled both lines of scrimmage, which is where I place this loss on if we have to assign such blame in these kind of things.....both lines sucked ass.....

Good to know we're not quite up to the level of where Rice's Defense is at.

LOL, s bunch of fucking Chicken Littles. maybe it is time for all you mother fuckers to go. Go find another team. I am sure Iowa has room for you, or maybe Wyoming, Minnesota, Missouri... you would all fit in well there.

You are not fans, you are fair weather fans.

I shouldn't be posting right now because I will readily admit my outlook right now is negative. But at the same time I ask what would you prefer?

Would you be happy if we said that was a great game regardless of the same problems being seen on the field that we have seen year in year out?. Or are you saying we should except the fact that Nebraska will never be a BCS championship caliber team? I won't accept that. I see other teams that can complete the cycle and return to excellence rather quickly. Why do we have to be the one that can't?

Pelini is in his 5th year and has never at this point fielded a complete team and outside the Suh years has never fielded a competent defense.

I am not going to be quick to say fire him but it is time to look at the fact that this process of his is stuck in neutral. He is a great guy and I think he could be a great coach but I am afraid his ego is getting in the way of that. Perhaps the reason he is hiring inexperienced staff is because then he does not have to deal with a staff that has ideas different than him. Unfortunately if you surround yourself with those who have less capability than you you will always have an outcome that is less than your capabilities.

You can call it whining or fickle or what you want but the team has no traction in this process of his.

Its just time for Bo to go..

Unfortunately Nebraska is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't stage. If this coach is fired and the chances are good that another coach wouldn't be any better than he is. If that happens, all one has to do is look back at the history of our program before Devaney came here to see how bad it could be.

I have earned the right to overreact on this board.

I had like 13 shots of vodka in me by the time I posted this thread.

Bo has done some good things. His players aren't in trouble with the law as much as previous coaches. They are still academic all Americans. He hasn't had a losing season...yet.

But it's obvious he can not recruit the type of player he needs to run his defense. He is not a 'great' guy in fact he is an asshole but so was Devaney and so was Osborne at times. He will not be fired even after going 6-6 or 5-7. And if he was fired - the only coach that would come here would be Turner Gill or Scott Frost and I don't think that would help. Maybe Miami will come calling after getting destroyed by K - State and he will bail to an easier recruiting school. If he left on his own; it would be much easier to bring in a new coach.

I'm not a fair weather fan. I have high expectations as opposed to some here who probably have drawers filled with their participation ribbons and 8 or 9 wins is A-okay. Getting your ass handed to you by a PAC 12 school that is rebuilding is not acceptable.

The libtard Donna Shalala would never tolerate the likes of Bo.

I assume this was directed at my comment as I haven't seen any others call him a great guy. So with that in mind I will assume it warrants my response.

Great guys can be assholes too. I used the term great guy because he is doing something that earns the loyalty of his players every where he goes and by all appearance his staff.

Being an asshole to people such as the media and yes fans who make his job harder does not mean he cannot be a great guy. It means he doesn't hide his feelings and kiss ass.

edit: With that said I agree with you regarding his replacement. At this point in time we will not do any better. I wonder though if we had Mike Stoops as DC (who was interested) instead of a dc in training, if we would be in any different shape defensively

Agreed that great guys can be assholes. I think his staff his loyal to him because of who he hires (buddies...).

100% agree about Stoops. But would Stoops be 100% loyal which is want Bo wants from his staff? Maybe they don't share the same 'vision' when it comes to Bo's read and react defense? If I remember correctly Stoops' defense usually are pretty aggressive and smothering.
