Foot injury -- Being evaluated by team medical staff tomorrow.

Hawkins has been limited all week. Looks like we'll go into SD with Green, Tate, Jones and Binns/Whalen. There goes that red-zone success.

someone needs to hit Tate with their car.

Jones can draw attention away from Green, and a hobbled Hawkins is probably still better than BM Binns and Whalen.

I didn't realize that Gresham and Olson were hurt or traded. Also, couldn't the Bengals employ some more HB passes to say Leonard, quick over the middles, screens, quick outs, etc.

Bengals passing game will be fine, I am more concerned about the running game this week. When the running game is kicking out yards, Dalton has much more time to find an open target because defensive players have to stay in their gaps and cover the run.

SD is ranked like 5th or something in the league on run defense. The two headed monster of BJGE and Peerman need to run hard this week and create some passing lanes for Dalton along with the Oline.

Besides we have not heard how bad it is yet. So lets wait for full disclosure before we jump to him not playing. More than likely not playing, but not a sure thing yet.

Maybe Gresham will play, or maybe his evil-twin brother that lets the ball bounce off his face mask will play. Hard to know with that guy.

My point is this.... We have struggled to fill the 2nd receiver role in this offense and it really hurt us in three early games (Miami, Cleveland and Pittsburgh). Just when we finally get it figured out, we're back to the drawing board. Hopefully Jones is ready to step up and show us what he's got.

BJGE and Peerman as a "two headed monster" ?

I give credit to the offensive line being able to perform against a few shitty teams. Lets hope they don't get jet lagged in California again... or whatever the problem happens to be when they go there.

hopefully, by now, they realize Jones is a better play maker than Binns and Tate. I'm not even sure Binns and Tate would make any other team in the NFL.

I'm not sure the success of the pass game is predicated on the run game. If anything, I'd say it's the other way around. We've played some horrendous pass defenses the last 3 weeks and it's probably opened holes in the run game with teams trying to over-compensate against the pass.

I think it can work either way. If the run is working, then the defense tends to keep an extra guy in the box making single coverage more likely on less threatening targets.

And he's out for the year..... That sucks. Just when he was starting to look like Marvin's best third rounder ever he gets hurt. Let's hope we send him somewhere else to rehab. Don't want a simple stress fracture turning into a degenerative foot.

Yes, but little has changed in the run game to suggest the run game has improved and that has had an affect on the pass game. However, with the emergence of Sanu and playing bad pass defenses, every indication is the run game is being supported by the pass game. We'll see for certain as we move forward over the next few weeks, but everything points in that direction.

Our luck is consistently horrible....stress fractures tend to become chronic...just when it looked like Sanu was breaking out....damn....:burt:

Where this will be really noticed in in the red zone, where our offense had scored 11 tds in the last 13 possessions. Binns or Tate in the red zone is hilarious.

Is Hawkins back yet? Or did they just take him out back and shoot him?

Yeah, that sucks but shit happens. Here's the good news:

1. We know Sanu is a good player and he has an injury is minor in the long run. Looks like a TJ esque player and they type of guy you want on your team. Should be a very good player long term.

2. Right when Sanu gets hurt Marvin Jones gets healthy. As much as I liked the Sanu pick, the Jones pick I loved. Totally different type of WR. Capable of some huge plays. So hopefullyhe steps in as the #2.

3. Hawkins is healthy.

4. No matter who is at #2 we have AJ Green

5. Gresham is starting to play better

6. The O-line gets better each week.

7. Whalen is capable of playing a similar possesion type role that Sanu played.

The bad news is that Brandon Tate is on the roster for some reason beyond my comprehension. Lets hope that he only sees the field on ST.

You know better. Tate/Binns will play altogether too many snaps, and the offensive efficiency, especially in the red zone, will suffer accordingly. That's just how we roll.
