I have a feeling this will be the best first round series. Sharks in 7.

I think that this series will be much like last years series, it will be long and physical. Who ever wins will be too beat up to be able to overcome the second round. This is under the assumption that Niemi pulls his game together, if he shits the bed like he had been doing after the olympic break, it will cost us a game or two and Stalock will get the nod. In this case LA may roll.

Fuck Jeff Carter

When you have two very evenly matched teams, often times goaltending is the difference and you have to give the nod to the Kings in that regard. Kopitar is playing great hockey these days for the Kings (he should win the Selke this year).

I agree, I just think the high-powered offense of the Sharks will be the difference this year. Think they may finally quiet the doubters.

Especially with Anaheim (most likely) on tap.

If Dusty Brown so much as breathes on Hertl, he will feel the wrath of Ralphie like no other.

My outlook on the series and my prediction.

FTHN Playoff Preview: San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings | Fulltilt Hockey Network

Slimpkins, take a look! :suds:

That's a good breakdown. I agree that the Kings have the edge in net (although I would say it is more than a slight edge) and on D while the Sharks have the more potent offense. The times that the Sharks have had success on Quick is when they can get him to drop early and then shoot upstairs.

It will be interesting to see if Torres plays and how Hertl looks after he only came back for a game or two before the season ended.

I'm rooting for San Jose in this series (Dutter got his Cup ring, time for those great fans in San Jose to enjoy another long playoff run).

Thank you.

I'm rooting for the Sharks here, I guess my Pavelski article was good luck for him since he reached 41 goals! ;) :yahoo:

I think your offense may be too much for the Kings.

Hope Kings win this in 6 because I am afraid of the Sharks at home Ina game 7.
Out of 5 games only one was not a one goal game. East coast people are going to miss, in my opinion, the best series of the first round. I expect a couple of over times and one of them to be 0-0 after the first 60 minutes. Followed by a bunch of people calling it boring hockey after reading the headline on yahoo but not actually watching the game.

You're going to see guys like Mark Spector complaining about it

As for the series, the way I'd love to see it go is the Kings steal one of the first two games on the road, then win 3 and 4 at home, lose game 5 before winning game 6 - to me that seems like a logical possibility but as you said, a game 7 on the road would be tough

I expect a lot of 2-1, 3-2 type games. Not pretty hockey, but damn fun, especially if you are a fan of one of the teams. I don't like this match-up, because if (and that's a big if) the Sharks get past the Kings, they will probably be drained for Anaheim which is another in your face physical team.

Go Sharks!
