At his current price of $7 million I would definitely take him depending on the cost to get him. My issue would be if he is more than a 1-year rental then he gets pretty expensive year 2 with around $17 million in a cap hit. So this is why I only think you give up a 5th round pick or later because this is a 1-year rental type move. If he had a more team friendly deal for year 2 then yeah I would be willing to give up a bit more but my guess is Elway doesn't want to spend that kind of money for a very injury prone QB.

First off, Bradford is`nt a good fit for all you guys that were saying we should draft Kap or Rg3 because of their running ability. Now the same guys are saying Bradford would be a good fit in Kubiaks system. The guy can`t run. Make up your mind. Secondly, I don`t want a Qb that throws a tantrum because the his bosses want to look into the future and have every right to draft who they want. You go out and win the job. Apparently he doesn`t have the confidence in himself to beat out a rookie for two yrs. I don`t see many players wanting a guy like that in the locker room. Man up Bradford, you big pussy. It`s not your call. Do your job. Not to mention he has just about the worst QBR since he`s been in the league. OOOH!! I want that guy!! What a perfect fit!!!

Kubiak's system honestly fits a lot of QB's. I mean we have seen athletic guys like Elway run it clear to the pocket passers like Schaub and Flacco. Probably more than anything is needing a big arm to really stretch the field and the ability to get to the edge. This is why Manning was about the worst fit of any QB in the league this past year because he had the weakest arm and couldn't keep teams honest by getting to the edge. Bradford at least has shown he can run to the edge and keep that backside DE honest. He also has a big enough arm to make the deep throw off the roll out.

The guy blew his knee out just taking a step in the pocket. He`s a season ending injury away anytime he rolls out. No thanks. He`s not worth the risk and he`s showing what a whiner and leader he really is. If you think he`s getting a lot of respect from players around the league for his reaction to this, I will politely beg to differ on that.

Bradford has a career QB rating in the NFL of 81 - Sanchez puts him to shame.

@randymon I think people who claim Bradford is a good fit are not talking in terms of running vs non running. Simply the fact that we have a great D and some weapons around Bradford. We don't need a "STUD" QB to win football games with our team.

You seem angry at everyone in the forum lately. I hope things are ok.

To me given our situation if we don't upgrade at all during the draft with some sort of trade it might be our only option. Not appealing but probably better then what we have now. Surely not willing to give up much for him that is for sure. I wouldn't give anything more then a mid round pick or two mid round picks for the guy given his injuries, contract and he isn't exactly a "great" QB by any means.

I am sometimes math challenged, but here goes on Bradford:

His contract guaranteed $22 million over two years. He got half of that as a signing bonus so that's $11 million. He is only only due $7 million for the balance of this year - that makes $18 million paid. He is still guaranteed $4 million more by whoever owns his contract this year - for next year. So he does cost more than $7 million is someone assumes his contract.

This is correct.

Hoyer and plow the extra money into the other Roster needs.

Straight up - Bradford.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but who else are we gonna throw that money at? (Trying to think here)

Hoyer or Bradford are probably both going to be ok QB's here for a stop gap with our D and supporting cast. We can get by with either as a stop gap. Neither exciting obviously. Neither long term solutions.

I am almost expecting draft a QB early, sign Hoyer... Rookie, Hoyer, Sanchez fight it out.

If the rookie looks good enough to be the #2 the vet who doesn't make it could be released/traded for a 7th after camp, or if nobody separates themselves (hopefully this isn't the case) then go with a starter and have a short leash.

There are two theories on how to best engage Randymon in a long term argument. Neither of them work.
