That kinda sucks. Most projections were anticipating a cap of $168m. Not the end of the world, but will hamstring Dallas a little. With the situation Dallas is in, every million counts.

How can any team be dumb enough to give him $12M per year??? He disappears for huge time periods, is a malcontent, average production and an asshole...

According to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, the "belief" among league personnel at the Combine is free agent DeSean Jackson will sign with the Bucs.

Vertical speedster Jackson would be an ideal stylistic complement to Mike Evans in Tampa Bay, and prevent Evans from facing the double teams he commanded more and more as last season progressed. Although Jackson is 30 years old, he can still lift the lid. He has led the NFL in yards per reception in two of the last three seasons. Pauline expects D-Jax to land $12 million annually.

Hope he does go to Tampa, though 12 mill would be idiotic for any team to pay for that dickhead

I think some of you guys may be surprised at the money some of these guys get over the next few years. Salary cap is exploding the past few years, and doesn't look to be slowing down. Player salaries have to follow.

Terrance Williams may end up getting $8m AAV this year. If Williams is worth $8m, Jackson is probably not too far off at $12m. Williams is a mediocre WR who blocks well. Jackson, at least for the time being, has an elite skill that teams covet and a proven track record on the field.

Not surprised at all with rising salaries or the contracts guys get. Was talking just about DJax. Don't think DJax is very good and giving him $12M would be dumb. I don't care if the cap is $200M:noidea:

To be clear I'm only talking about the portion of the contract he is likely to get. If there are a year or two tacked onto the back end at $14M or so to make it look higher the average could be almost anything. The devil is in the details.

I'm not a DJax fan, and wouldn't want him on my team. But someone will, and Jackson will get paid.
