wrong the best center fielder is obi melonowabi

This ^^^^^^^ If the kid is there at the Skins pick they should put a LAPD chokehold on his ass. He might have some issues with the stupid ass defenseless WR bullshit due to his size, but he has all the tools, physically and more importantly mentally to be a stud FS. I think he has the mental acumen to be a Troy P/Ed Reed type playmaker. Possibly even be the player we all hoped Sean Taylor would become.

For all his impressive combine numbers. I've read that Peppers is slow to react to balls in the air and has no real feel for being a FS. Maybe some of that was due to him being moved around so much in college, but being called lost when balls are in the air is not the ideal attribute you want in a FS. He might even end up as this year's version of Adam Archuleta or Mike Maluma or whatever his last name was and drafted by the Ravens. A combine warrior and great college player, but who's skill-set will never translate to the faster, more complex NFL play.

So you are just judging by numbers?

Is that better or worse than judging by the letters SS associated to his name? The kid went to DB university and his DB coach freakin loved him.

Alot of interesting banter on this.

IM not married to the pick, I hink he might bring something interesting to the table and alot of Mocks have him there and us taking him.

But in reality Im hoping we get some D-line help or an ILB at 17... cause for fuck sake when was the last time we actually drafted a good Inside LB early in the draft?

i dont give a crap what he is listed as , his sr bowl and his combine say he is a centerfeider as well as his play

Gotta be careful not to overhyped what he did in shorts. His tape is not as impressive.

Ruz is on point about Cravens and any ideas of playing him at ILB. He'd be interesting at OLB, moreso in a 43 defense than a 34 defense and he'd need someone in front of him that would protect him. The bottom line is Cravens seems to have a nose for the ball. SS could be a realk nice spot for him, but I think there will be some growing pains. He's a missle type player, point him and watch him go, who can be great at and around the LOS, capable of decent coverage in short yardage passing situations.

Lets hope Reddick is there at 17. He is a no brainer pick

Considering our front office might be short on the brains department, one could only hope.

I still got a bad feeling we are not going to have Kirk signed before the draft, 17 will come and Watson will be there... and Dan wont be able to control himself.

That would probably be the year of our Lord nineteen and fuckin never ever ever ever. What's really frightening about our ILB issues is I've seen some reports that speak in terms of Will Compton being an above decent player at the position. Which might be true if we had a stud DL as he's a smart guy. Not saying I think the Skins should cut him outright, but if Will Compton is the bees knees far as your ILBs go. That's simply code that means you need to get a hellified DL or a better ILB than Will Compton.

I will eat a shoe if we draft Watson. It might be a newborn baby shoe. but it will be a shoe and I will eat that bitch. While clicking my heels together and wishing Daniel Snyder is aducted by aliens for a week or 9046 weeks give or take a week or two with really big, nasty and harsh anal probes.

Dude... dont get me wrong, Im a huge Compton fan. Kid is actually smart as hell. But you are right, we have to have a monster line in front of him. Because while he is smart, solid and a good tackler... he aint going to shed many blocks. So he will need some help in front of or next to him. If we got a guided missile next to him.. you know some one who plays off of instinct, and just goes Will.. what are we doing today. Or a real space eater NT that teams have to account for... I think Will would be a great field general. But if all we got is what we had last year in front of him, and another OK yet nothing special Mason Foster next to him.... I worry.

Well aren't you just a peach. I wouldn't wanna deprive ol' Cy of cherished chew toy. And don't tell me, but I bet you've been wearing a size 13 triple E wide since you went through that growth spurt back in 7th grade.

I would be very careful projecting this kid to become like any of the greats at a position he doesn't play,
especially Sean Taylor.
Remember Byron Jones? He had one of the most amazing combines, that got him boosted into the first round.
He hasn't been this elite CB or S, but he has gotten better.

I think Obi will be a good player but there are better choices than him later on. There is a kid from Utah that can ball at FS too. Again I respect your opinion, its just that we've seen how this could go with Byron as an example.

You said a lot of good things there shark. I like Will too, smart guy ... I think he is good for the team but the boy is Velcro to a block. I think some of that is arm length. Bigger lineman with long arms control him and he has a hard time getting off blocks. I agree he needs more DLine help and a faster, more athletic, guy next to him would help also.

A 220 or 230 pd guided missle is gonna run into and be ran into by far too many Missle Defense Systems. One of Will's issues is he's only 230 pounds and over 6 ft tall.

While there are more I'm sure. The only 230 pound or so ILBs/MLBs I can think of that had sustained success playing an intetrior LB position. Are Mike Singletary at 232 pounds and Sam Mills at 235 or so. Both were under 6 feet tall and had been playing the position since at least high school. They both were also pot bellied types whereas both Will and Sua are muscle mass types. I think the body structures of Mike and Sam helped them to deal with, to bettetr absorb the close quarters collison factor. Whereas the body types of Sua and Will get banged up easier, maybe pretty significantly so.

Think you missed my meaning as a guided missile. We need a guy next to Compton who is basically an inside pass rusher, maybe a little more size. Capable of coverage but not really the guy we rely on to get ever one in position. Will as the guy getting everyone where they need to be.. the LFB role.. is fine. But he needs a D-line in front of him and a playmaker beside him.

I spit on the haircut of careful. Obi's gonna be the tits.

And while ST indeed had the potential for greatness in him. He wasn't great, not yet.

Negatory on remembering Byron Jones.

Disagree on your assessment about better choices later on than Obi, at least at safety. Yeah, I'm hip to Marcus Williams

I do not know what tape is unimpressive . He makes mistakes. But. His sr bowl was outstanding in the areas of suppose weakness , it isn't just the combine

Yeah, Compton's a smart player and all that, but I'd rather have an Antonio Pierce or London Fletcher who were also smart players, but significant upgrades over Compton. Giun to my head having to keep one present ILB on the team over all others. I'd choose Compton as he has played both ILB positions, but imo he's a JAG. If a potential upgrade were to become available for whatebver reason. I'd be cool with that.

No doubt and I believe he had the fastest 40 time among all the safeties.
