1. There is no deadline for a decision. Saban doesn’t have to decide today, if he is willing to keep dividing practice reps during game preparation. He seems perfectly willing to do so. August 30 isn’t a deadline either. Certainly, someone has to take the first snap but that doesn’t necessarily mean either candidate takes every snap. Without any disrespect to Alabama’s first three opponents, there is a certain amount of schedule flexibility before the beginning of SEC play.

A nice southern way of stating… WVU ain't much to worry about anyways. WVU… Florida Atlantic…. Southern Miss… provide that flexibility.

I believe the Bama offense has some questions up front too. Saban called them out, and the reporter hinted that their talented trio of backs may have lacked production in their scrimmage.

They are replacing some of their hogs up front, and I am glad WVU is facing them in game 1… instead of 11.

The radio show I was listening to this morning had Bama fans calling in… they believe Sims will be the starter.

The positive for Bama… it will be hard for Gibby to game plan if a starter is not announced before kick-off.

Then again… there won't be much tape of either player… nor how the new OC will employ them…

Here's a read for you guys on this topic.

RB's didn't get any production last scrimmage because they focused on the passing game mostly. We are stacked at that position and there isn't any concern FWIW.

QB I dunno. Personally I think they need to put Coker in from the start and use those 3 games to get him more familiar with the offense. I don't at all like the idea of Sims being our QB. He's a hard worker, does everything right, but he simply does not have the arm we need to take advantage of our elite talent at WR.

I guess it could happen but I have a hard time believing Saban is ok with a 2 QB situation( I've seen that in a couple of places now) even for one game. If I had to bet Id say Bama's situation will be exactly like ours was last year, nobody will know who "the man" is until the offense trots out on the field in Atlanta.

We had similiar things with AJ vs Phillip Sims back in 2011, so I hope it gets worked out quickly and I ultimately think it will.

I don't think any Alabama fans want to see a Watts/Zow repeat.
