White could be that guy but he will have to make great strides in pre-season to survive the cut to 53 - he is also practice-squad eligible? and if he doesn't show much, nobody will take him.....

You get that feeling this is Boyce part 2...LOL

Really, I don't know. He didn't get many snaps last year and I don't have any idea if he will make the jump this year or make an exit. He is young, little wear and tear and was well thought of. If he can make receptions, he can easily take over for Vereen. It's all up to him, he will get his opportunity.

Lewis has made an early impression. In the competition for the pass-catching running back role previously held by Shane Vereen, four-year veteran Dion Lewis has put himself in position to be a dark-horse candidate worthy of consideration. Lewis hasn't played in a game the last two seasons. "He’s missed some time lately [in 2013, 2014], so we’ll see where he’s at, but he’s had a good spring," Belichick said. "He's done a good job."

From all indications Blount will be the primary back with Grady being relief. If he can get healthy, Bolden will be the 3 back taking Vereen's spot unless White can turn it up a notch. Bolden doesn't fumble, has great hands and has had at least one 100 yard rushing game in the NFL.

Gras has another good showing today against New Orleans? He will be the starter against Pittsburgh. With a good game 1 against Pittsburgh, could he win the starting position at RB? Or will Bill choose RB by committee anyways and go with whoever is hot?

So far tonight, Blount looks like he has 50 pound weights on each foot. He looks slow and unsure of what he's supposed to be doing.

Dieon Lewis has had a couple of good carries and a decent catch.

Amendola is getting mugged and tripped and the Patriots are not getting any calls. I think that the Patriots players and the Patriots fans may want to prepare themselves for a bad officiating year. They will get called for everything and nothing will be against their opponents. Goodell is going to make sure that life for the Patriots is miserable.

They played horrible last year after practicing with the Redskins and got pounded 23-6.

Dion Lewis is making a show to make the cuts.

After Dion made 120 combined yards last week, Rex Ryan said he didn't even know the kids name.

Should know him now - 138 combined yards this week.

Rex Ryan should know who Dion Lewis is now

Still miss Vereen?
At this rate, he is projected to beat Vereen's 4 years combined total - before the end of this year.
I'm not calling this likely, just pointing out for emphasis......

I'm glad he's helping me get over the loss of Vereen. He's like a jitter bug. But better start holding onto the ball or we won't get to enjoy him because BB will have him on the bench.

Dude, no one is saying give Vereen a big contract. I don't believe that he set his price at $5M per. 3M per will propably do it.
I'm watching Vereen tonight on the Eagles / Giants game.
Vereen is 0 yards for 4 passes
6 yards for 4 rushes.
that is 8 touches for a total 6 yards.......

How many times have we seen the good ones go somewhere else to fail to produce.
Or Bill will snag the discarded and turn them into a hero.

Blount, coming back from injury - free agent. 30 year old with hip and no elusiveness....
Bolden, special teams guy - serviceable back-up.
Develyn, FB, TE, receiver out of backfield. O-line was better with him there.....
Gaffney getting another chance to make the team in preseason.....
Iosefa excelled when thrown in behind underachieving O-line. My pick to surprise this year.
Steven Jackson, thanks for trying.....
Dion Lewis, will bounce back from injury but could not and will not handle being #1 back....
James White, showed something, did he show enough?

Scar coming bak will help the O-line. Without the O-line improving, RB's will mean little.
Presently, I see Bolden, Develyn, Iosefa, and Dion Lewis making the team. The rest will have to show something in preseason. Do you want to see us go into the season with these 4 and any other single player?

Blount - GONE
Bolden - Special teams and back up RB
Develyn, FB, TE, - GONE
Gaffney - Last chance to make the team OTAs, Mini Camp and Training Camp - Show what you've got
Iosefa - Will be the line up much more often
Steven Jackson - GONE
Dion Lewis - How bad was the knee and can he pick up where he left off
James White - Flashes of good and flashes of great, flashes of nothing.....Now or Never

Forte would be an outstanding addition. If they could get him, say good bye to Gaffney and White.

With Brady at QB does it even matter who's the RB?
