Good article. This is a big game for both players tonight. I suspect the Bengals are going to keep Rex and try to get Boom back to the practice squad. The final back on the roster likely won't dress on Sunday anyway, but it would be a great luxury to have both of them around in case of injury.

Boom is the better player. Rex will be cut.

Dan Herron is a "silent support" type player.

Rex Burkhead was pegged as the replacement for Brian Leanord, in the event of an injury to G.Bernard he could potentially even be effective as a starter, his talent is far ahead of Dan Herron, and anyone who doesn't think so is an Ohio homer.

So the NFL scouts that rated him as a 'worse' prospect than Burkhead are all OSU homers?

People like Rexy because he's an interesting story - Not because of talent.

uh, huh?

the ohio homers think he's 'better' than burkhead.
at one point burkhead was considered to be top 5 rb in the draft.

And Aaron Curry was the highest drafted Linebacker since Arrington, drafted 4th overall in 2009, and he just retired (Jwill can go ahead and call HIM a bust!)...Harrison went undrafted. Keisel (SP?) from Pitt was a 7th round draft pick and was nearly cut...he's carved out a 12 year career, a couple of Probowls and some rings...

Projections mean absolutely jack squat. I don't get this argument when trying to compare players. All that matters is what you do on the field when you get the opportunity. If you excell no one is going to care how you got there, and if you fail no one is going to care where you were drafted (well, being drafted high will buy you time, but eventually....)

My point is, draftnicks are wrong all the time.

However, with all that being said, if it comes down to trying to keep both of these guys, Herron gets the boot, as he's most likely to make it through waivers.

I know for a fact I was not one of the people you were having to defend Sanu from. I love Sanu, loved the pick, thought he was one of the steals of the draft. A 16 game healthy Sanu will be a difference maker on this offense.

I absolutely cannot wait to see us lineup with double TE, with Green and Sanu wide, and Bernard alone in the backfield with Andy in the gun. That will be hard as shit to stop.

Rex Burkhead Draft Profile ? NFL.com

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - Dan Herron

I said NFL scouts.... I linked the 'scouting' reports that were freely available from NFL.com heading into each player's respective draft. Herron was ranked higher -- Maybe the guy doing it was an OSU homer?

BTW, I've mentioned it before and I'll do so again.... I hate OSU.
