Actually there are no rumors about the Phillies now. Amaro has been ordered to put a zipper on while at the winter meetings. Probably because he can't make a decision on his own anymore. That's a good thing! Phillies do not have a lot to offer. Byrd and Hamels along with Bast-ardo are the most desirable trade chips. Howard must go at any cost to make room for Franco. Franco is putting up decent numbers in winter ball and is displaying power. Also
Hernandez is hitting 356 along with a high obp. There are young guys making strides! Time to give them a chance. Amaro will not be allowed to block the youth anymore by signing aging veterans.

Today's philly.com says the Phils are talking with Boston About Hamels but they are not insisting on any of Bogaerts, Betts, or Swihart.

WTH?!

Amaro is willing to trade an ace lefty and not get any of Boston's top prospects?

I hope to hell Hamels goes to LA instead and it nets us Joc Pederson CF and their SS prospect who could move to 3b when Crawford is ready.

Hamels will open the season at CBP on April 6, 2015, 3:05 PM vs. Boston. This ain't a rumor. Yawsa, yawsa, yawsa.

Pederson is a future star. Would love to have him in center field. Power and speed would put a spark

The yes man? I would have fired him the second the season ended. But it seems like Pat has control of things at this point. Which is for the best because no one wants Amaro making any decisions.
