This is a curious signing...

I mean, if he's 2010 Sanchez (extremely unlikely), it would be pretty amazing. But he won't be. And we don't need any more "maybe" pitchers. Our entire rotation consists of "maybe" pitchers.

I like him as a reliever. Easier to mitigate control problems, and regain some velocity.

Per reports it will be on minor league deal. I have no issues with that and yeah if he can be a good lefty out of the Pen worth the value.

If he can figure out his control problems in the bullpen he could be a useful spot starter later in the season.

Yeah..... a minor league deal is OK.

But I'm hoping that NH still signs Liriano.

IMO, Liriano, Locke, and McPherson ALL have a significantly higher probability of success as starters than does Sanchez. But Sanchez used to be good and he's only 30 and a lefty..... so I agree that he's OK as bullpen or starter depth.
