Figure it would be interesting to see some of the rumors you guys are hearing about your respective teams and any possible trades that may take place over the next 6 weeks...

Nucks - may need to lose a salary to fit Salo back in.
Who that might be will depend on how much we have to clear (ie. how much longer Salo stays out for).

Bieksa has been the rumoured name for three years now, since he's a UFA at the end of the year (and has not had a no-trade clause). But he's really become a decent player lately - now leading the team in +/-.
If we can lost a smaller salary, then Alberts / Rome? one of those guys would be the odd guy out in the lineup anyways.

Torres / Samuelsson / Ballard have also been rumoured to in contention for clearing salary if need be.

other than moves surrounding Salo, we are in pretty good shape.
the team was built to fill in holes that we saw in the last 2 playoffs, and so far so good *knock on wood*

Wallin + seto + 3rd for Chara

Seriously, I think that the Sharks should let some contracts come off the books in the offseason and see what they can do then. Unless you get a great offer, of course.

Unfortunately what I think will happen is that DWil makes a move for a rental bottom pairing dman at the expense of San Jose's youth and draft picks.

Also I wouldn't mind dumping Heatley.

You might be ready to do so but I'd be shocked if Yzerman were willing to do so.

For the Islanders it's the same old B.S.. Moulson says he's willing to take less to stay. I still think he's getting traded. There was a rumor about Boston yesterday, but it wasn't true.

I posted on the Bruins board that it appeared the B's were interested in Matt Moulson, but then I read elsewhere that he recently stated he would resign with the Isles. Not that I really want him anyway. He is a lot like a Wheeler, and he is the player rumored to be moving out for him, but Wheelers play as of recent has been much better. Not a trade I would make.

It's hard for me to believe Moulson is going to get a long term deal from the Isles. It might happen but I think some team is going to offer Barf a deal he can't refuse. Wisniewski got Barf a 2 & probably a 5. Moulson will at least bring back a 2nd round pick. Possibly more.

What makes a Moulson trade interesting is Barf can add pieces like Konopka or Martinek & bring back more in the deal. The Islanders can also add salary since they have more cap space than any team in the league. So if a team needs a goal scorer & needs to shed salary the Islanders could be the perfect trading partner.

With Okposo expected to be in the lineup against the Caps on Thursday it will be interesting to see how the lines shake out. I wouldn't be surprised if Comeau were dealt at the deadline or before.

Kings will do nothing.

That's the impression I got from the Lombardi interview on NHL Live. He was saying this is a great opportunity for the team to learn how to handle adversity. He also said he knows this team cares he's just not sure how much & if they're handling it the right way.

All I know is the Kings need to get their act together. I know they don't want to trade the future away & won't but the way they're playing something needs to be done.

I hope the Flames do nothing (only if they get a great offer for Iggy and/or Kipper should they look to swing a deal). Otherwise, stand pat and enjoy that first round pick.

Sens are definitely sellers with the playoffs out of reach now.

Chris Phillips, Alex Kovalev, Jarkko Ruutu and Filip Kuba are the guys that keep coming up as definitely being shopped.

Other like Mike Fisher, Sergei Gonchar and even Daniel Alfredsson have all been linked to trade rumors. Latest one I heard was that the Flyers would be interested in Alfie if he became available. But I think if he is moved to a contender, it will be next year...not this year. Mainly because he's got 2 more years on his contract.

I suspect Chris Campoli and Brian Lee could be moved as well.

Do you think Calgary might try to trade one of their defenseman at or near the deadline? When going for the Cup teams can never have enough defenseman & the Flames have a solid group & are in need of some prospects & picks.

I think realistically the only guy they could move is Regehr (but he has a NTC). JayBo is too pricey, Giordano is too good, and the rest is pretty meh (I mean, does any team out there need Cory Sarich and what would he fetch in return?)

Regehr is the guy I was thinking of. A lot of teams would probably like to have him.

I didn't hear the interview, but I heard about it.
It means (to me) the Kings won't be buyers but may be sellers. You know this is going to get back to the players. If it motivates them or gives them an excuse to fold we will find out by March

Phillips to Boston might be a talked about. Chara and he had some chemistry before.
Alfredsson I think will stay. He is worth more in PR than they would get in return.
Anyone (almost) else could go. Sens may want to press reset and clear as much cap space as possible for UFAs and trades in the off season.

Kings will do nothing.
Dear Mr. Lombardi,

I really don't understand your mentality. I mean, first off,the Kings should have never gave up Brian Boyle, He could have easily done the job of Handzus for less pay. Boyle is having a great season so far.

Matt Moulson should have stayed, I know that Sturm is a veteran player and has speed, but his reliability and age comes into question. Moulson too is having a good season.

Dustin Brown, right now, needs the C off his jersey. He really hasn't shown me to be a true Captain. If anything Smyth has shown more leadership by example than anyone else on that team.

I think the Kings have done wrong to try to settle for veteran players to make the playoff push, I don't see them getting past the 1st round, IF they even make it this year.

Their goal tending has always been an issue for these guys, and they need to make a clear determination of who is no.1 not just we'll go with who's hot or not. I don't think Quick or Bernier would be ready for the intensity of a deep playoff push. Kings need a veteran Goalie if they stand any chance of going past the 1st round.

Defense is getting there, if it weren't for Scuderi, Kings definitely would be bottom dwellers at this point. Doughty and Johnson need another year or two before they become real threats to all teams. Kings have some great kids coming up in the system, I can see that this team will be tough to beat defensively in the years to come.

what the Kings need? A veteran goalie, 3rd line center and somebody who can play along side Kopitar. wishfull thinking.

Oh...do something about your coaching staff.. whether it be getting rid of Murray, but it needs a good shakeup to salvage whats left of their season.

thank you.

pissed off
