I'm glad we didn't draft any slow ILBs

I think you keep Colquitt. I mean other than Von did anyone have a better Super Bowl? Called it during game and after heard a lot of guys mention it. He has 1yr left right? Maybe this is to push him and possibly leverage in case he asks for too much money.

I don't think we drafted a P to not have an open competition. I think Colquit sticks, but Dixon will have every chance to unset him spending a draft pick on him.

The vibe I get is that Elway wasn't real high on the draft after round 5, the trade we made with Titans, then drafting a FB and P. Not that we can;t use those, but just sorta gives me that vibe that the skilled position and LB's weren't intriguing to him.

Not excited, but hopefully he can save money on Colquitt. I thought the guys at Duke, Wake Forest and TAMU were better (and could play outdoors).

He's already 12th highest paid player and getting $3.25M this year. They may squeeze him to reduce his pay.

Kaser was already drafted by the Chargers.

My top P's went

1. Kaser
2. Hackett
3. Dixon
4. Monday
5. Johnson

Really not a great punter draft

I would have preferred Hackett - that way he and Gotsis would be able to understand each other.

Kinal - from Wake Forest has an uncanny number of punts inside the 20. Dixon - will have to learn to punt much faster in this league - that never works out well. wasted pick - IMO

My best guess - happy hour started two hours ago.

C'mon guys, just look at this - a fake FG for the first down - look at that celebration -

Dixon is THE MAN

( he actually looks insane ... love it )

The punter had a nice resume of punts inside the twenty along with a decent avg per.

I hope you are correct Randymon - when he punts I have to check to see if I'm watching in slow motion. At least Dixon will be a legit threat to tackle somebody and to maybe take off with a fake FG.

IMHO, dumb draft pick.

Punted in a dome for 1/2 of his career. Not even the best punter in the NCAA. Maybe the thinking is that he has not been punting at altitude and his punts will be bigger in the thin air.

Hayden Hunt from CSU comes out next year. He has been punting outdoors in Colorado for quite awhile. But not really impressive numbers, just pointing out that he has been punting in Colorado for three years now so he knows the weather.

As has been pointed out, linebacker is needed.

Elway is comfortable with the inside linebackers. Denver on purpose over drafted at 2, 3 and the punter.

While not excited about punter pick he is much better then people are giving him credit for. His hang time is very good. Something it seems like we have never had with our punters since I've been alive besides Mike Horan!

Plus we signed Bralon Addison, so Dixon isn't important if he doesn't beat out Colquit. :)

I'm warming up to Dixon. His inside the 20s percentage is pretty good - and often that takes off some of your average. I think hang time in a dome is into dead air - so thin air might be strategically good. When you have a good defense - you want the other guys to go as far as possible on every possession. I think you will see more KO specialist's going high as well - to pin guys deep in the zone.

I do think it is a big thing to be good, but do it faster and keep that level of boom in your kick is a hard trick to add.

You think Simmons was over drafted? Many draft gurus thought he was a second round value.
