Why would that make it a bad pick this year?

Wasnt out right saying it was a bad pick, and actually think it could turn out to be a good pick. But we have tended to draft alot of guys with health questions over the past few drafts is all.

Exactly. What does a torn pec have to do with his cover ability? This is why Jake Butt, Sidney Jones, Jalen Smith, Mixon, Brantley, Fuller. (Etc..the list goes on and on) falls. Because of injury or character issues. You have the opportunity to get great value a round or two later... you take it. We should be rollin the dice and taking one of these "wild cards" every year. If it works out... it's a home run. If it doesn't, you lost a 3rd, 4th, even a later pick.... not a 1st.

NOTES ON THE SELECTION OF FABIAN MOREAU



· Moreau is the 458th selection made by the Redskins in the Common Draft era (since 1967) and the 34th third-round selection in that time frame. He is the 64th third-round selection by the Redskins all-time since the institution of the draft in 1936.

· With Moreau’s selection, the Redskins have now selected a defensive player with their first three picks of the draft for the first time since 2009 (DE/LB Brian Orakpo in the first round, CB Kevin Barnes in the third round and LB Cody Glenn in the fifth round). Prior to 2017, the last time the Redskins selected a defensive player in each of the first, second and third rounds was in 1997 when the team picked DE Kenard Lang, LB Greg Jones and LB Derek Smith, respectively.

· Moreau’s selection marks the second straight season in which the Redskins have selected a defensive back with their third-round pick (Kendall Fuller, 2016).

I really like this pick. I like big DBs and this guy has speed. Most evaluations on him had him quite a bit higher than mid 3rd.

I'm with you. The Cowboys are about to look very smart by taking Jaylon Smith in the 2nd last year.
