Right now the way I see it there are going to be 22 players fighting for two or three open roster spots at this point. And the reason I say two or three, is the spot thats in holding until they determine if they are really going to keep Griffin. If he is cut, I see three open roster spots. If not.... 22 guys fighting for 2 spots. I here they have started constructing a WWE style cage under the practice dome in Ashburnistan. :)

I see no way he is traded with that $16.1m contract for next year. He will have to be willing to renegotiate, which he might be willing to do. That being said, what happens if the only teams offering anything are Philly and Dallas? Do you make the trade? If you don't and cut him, one of them will pick him up. Or do you park him on the inactive list all season and then cut him next year?

Personally, I've seen enough to say make the damn trade. I just don't see him a success in a typical NFL offense. He could possibly thrive in a chip Kelly offense, but he is so brittle that I don't see him ever playing a full year.

Hopefully they would trade him out of the division. If Dallas and Philly are the only teams showing interest, it would have to be a good trade to make that move for me. But then again if they are simply looking ot et what ever they can in return, I could see them pulling the trigger. Most likely we will just end up releasing him in the coming days and that part of the saga will be over unless he does sign with Dallas or Philly. Sadly I get the feeling we are not done paying for this particular mistake.

Heh. I laughed. I feel the same way though. Even in a predominant read option system he runs well. It'll only take a matter of time before his head gets full of himself and he does something he shouldn't. Like head-first diving into the end-zone of zigging when he shoulda zagged.

Do I think he is going to go elsewhere and haunt us? No. But I would also like to see him outside the nfceast just in case.
