Well, Elway has managed this team to 5 straight AFC West titles, Two SB appearances, and another Lombardi with a golden "50". I'm willing to give Elway a bit of leeway in team decisions. I don't see him passing on talent to reach for OL.Well with no LT I have to agree. If true it also show a complete lack of faith of our young guns. More troublesome to me however will be the money spent on Romo, and will probably mean we will reach for and draft for need instead of talent. If we pass on a player like the caliber of Foster for some OL with question marks I will be pissed. And let's face it, every OL in this draft have question marks of whether they can succeed on the next level. I would rather use the money to fortify our o line and draft talent, regardless of position.
I'm with you on Elway, but let's not pretend he hasn't been pretty awful when evaluating the draft for o line. Almost every OL he's drafted has been a reach especially at either T position. And that was with a viable option like Clady on the team. Now that we are at code red critical at the position, I could certainly see a reach. There isn't a LT in this draft without major questions. I hope we can get one in FA, but with potentially signing Romo, that could put a snag in that. Another question is, if we sign Romo, what does that say about our young QB's, and Elway's evaluation of drafting qb's? Like I've stated before, he's been absolutely brilliant in drafting defensive talent. It's just a bit ironic he's struggled on drafting offensive talentWell, Elway has managed this team to 5 straight AFC West titles, Two SB appearances, and another Lombardi with a golden "50". That is because you live in Texas, so of course that is what you're reading.
