Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White is paying up for the Twitter bet he lost.
White, who told fan Dylan Hoyt he would give him season tickets on the 50-yard line if 14th-seeded Mercer beat third-seeded Duke in the NCAA basketball tournament, ended up following through with his promise days after Mercer upset Duke, 78-71. A team official confirmed White would present Hoyt with two seasons tickets and two Super Bowl tickets.

Hoyt also will receive pregame sideline passes to any one game and will be a guest of White's at training camp, where he'll sit in the VIP section and talk to players after practice.

About time, I would have lost all respect if he didnt. This is like us losing 5 bucks on a bet. Your name and credibility is worth a lot more

He exceeded the bet. But he did try to back out. That Dan is thrilled as he should be.

Great make up gesture from White that will no doubt result in positive PR. Hoyt should also offer to have the Mercer coach as his guest for one game.

I'm not sure this is in the same area code as season tix at the 50, but the bet winner seems happy enough.

He seems to have gotten better seats than being at the 50. So yeah, i'd be happy as well. + 2 SB tickets.

Lost alot of respect for Roddy. This is something a man would not do, this is something a child would do.

He got backed into the corner and when he realized there was no way out. He finally paid.

As soon as i lost the bet. My next move would tweet the guy to meet me at a coffee shop, buy the tickets and stuff, and buy the guy a coffee and the rest of the stuff

Well...Roddy did try to back out, but not because he was being a jerk or whatever...gambling on sports is illegal in the NFL and he thought he might get in some hot water...once that was cleared I think he bucked up.

I can see that, but not the way it happened from my understanding.
