Peter Yarrow, singer from Peter, Paul and Mary folk trio, dead at 86

Peter Yarrow died Tuesday after a four-year battle with bladder cancer. The musician was part of Peter, Paul and Mary, the folk trio started in the 1960s.

I always enjoyed the music of Peter, Paul, and Mary from the early days in the 60s. In a note of irony, Yarrow was pardoned in 1981 of a sex crime with a 14-year old girl in 1970 by the late President Jimmy Carter who died a few days ago. It was amazing how little if any press carried the story at the time it occurred and of the pardon itself. Politics may have been a factor since Yarrow's wife was the daughter of Sen. Eugene McCarthy. Yarrow served just 3 months of a 1-3 year sentence. Fame does it every time.
