Was he battling some illness? Always liked John, this is very sad news.

Last decent pbp guy the Raptors had. Incredibly well-rounded sports person. Hope he died peacefully.

His brother also played for the Nordiques in the early 80s.

Oh man, had no idea he was even sick. He used to be a local sports guy in Baltimore way back when. I always liked him.

Very sad indeed. Saw Mort on the NFL HOF show and he looked very ill also. Prayers out to Mort and his family also.
