NOT this first one. I know that many of you will say so, but honestly it is not. Sure there are reasons to believe this but there is one other game that is far more important to the fortunes of this team this season and in future games. That game is on October 6th vs the Seattle Seahawks!! here are a few reasons why this is so.

1. It is a yardstick game....measured against one of the best in the game, they could:

A. fold and be relegated to an also ran in future games/seasons

B. play them even and lose, but realize that they are not far away.

C. win the game in their place and make the entire NFL world take notice, then use it to be a factor for
rest of this season and beyond.

D. Lose badly and find their weaknesses, correct them and become the contender that they want to be.

2. It is the 5th game of the season, still time to make a run regardless of record.

I would probably disagree because local media outlets(at least most of them) are bragging about how Houston is not the same team they were last year, and they are healthy. Also RGIII had a horrible pre-season...although most of his big completed plays were out of bounds or called back on penalties. So if we win the first game, we have beaten a defensive juggernaut with Watt and Clowney leading the way...and we prove that the pre-season fiasco was just that...

NO ONE expects us to beat Seattle so if we do, the media will just talk about Seattle having an off day...we won't get any credit.

If we don't win the first two games...the media will be calling for Cousins, lol

Good points, however I not clear as to which game you are saying is the most important on the schedule.

if we lose but rg3 looks good, the o line holds up, and our defense gets pressure, i wouldnt be that upset. no one thinks we will make the playoffs anyway.

Most important game is obviously vs the Texans because it will set the tone for the season and give us a good idea of what we can expect for the season. At this point we have no idea of what Jay Gruden's offense will look like. The potential os the passing game with Garçon, Jackson, Roberts and Reed is scary but can they give enough time to RGIII to hit those guys ? Playing vs Watt and Clowney will answer that.

The defense is supposed to be more aggressive, with a better tackling and an improved pass rush with the additions of Hatcher and Murphy. Can they limit big plays and contain Foster and Johnson from having a big day ? Can't wait to see that.
